so last night I was listening to a Terrence McKenna interview that had rainforest noises in the background as I drifted off to dream land with my oolong tea :]
it was so relaxing he's like a human quaalude.

Meh I think he's a little too far out there for my taste. I like the Hunter S. Thompson approach to drugs much better.

I agree talks are a little "out there" (especially the ones on UFOs) but he delivers his pov so well that even if you disagree completely he still gives you something worth thinking about.

He's so non-fundamental with his words that he comes across as just another soul in life with his own ideas and philosophies whom anyone can listen to, and take from him what they please.

It's like art at a museum, and he's just one of the pieces of art. Some may like it, some may not, some may get inspiration from it etc.

most will agree that's it's unique and beautiful, but there's many other arts to look at and form opinions about.

He never preaches, only speaks his mind. and his voice is so calming his words can be absorbed without even listening or paying attention.

I think Terrence Mckenna had some really amazing ideas.  Obviously anybody of that intellectual magnitude is gonna have a few clunkers as well.  Shrooms as intergalactic intelligence?  Meh.

Yeah I agree. I do think his theory of mankind and how apes became smart could hold some water though. Not a bunch, but more than others. His "others" are what make me questionable towards my opinion of him.

the truth is, no one can disprove his claims and he can not prove them.

They are interesting ideas, and fun to think about. I usually leave it at that.

Agreed completely, I'm just saying that some people put too much faith in him and don't see the Non-Fiction aspect of his stuff :thumbup:
