West Virginia

I've just changed my location settings on shroomery to West Virginia, despite that I've been living here for a month now.

It's Northern West Virginia, so the WV hick jokes don't really apply too much. It's lovely here, wayyyy better than Maryland, anyone who is normal in this town is incredibly nice to everyone, the tea shop here is bomb and I can, for a change, walk everywhere in town and cars are not necessary. This place rocks, the grass is pretty great too and there's a nice selection of other such things.

Anyone else diggin West Virginia as much as I do?

Whatdya know, I'm in berkeley co. also right on the potamac.


I miss bmore cause it's my home town, all of my friends are there, I have no friends out here, this place sucks. I wouldn't ever recommend living here, it's so dead. Elkins is more like the WV I know, this I just consider to be an extra subburbs of hagerstown.

I dont live in WV but it is such an awesome state. cept for all the strip mining and mountaintop removal. I feel like things are really laid back in WV and it has a unique culture. i was there one time chilling out front of a bluegrass hall in War , WV (yes War is the name of the town) when a group of people began drag racing down the main strip on four wheelers. apparently they are street legal there and you dont need a license to operate one. pretty fucking awesome. they guy I was talking to told me thre are four wheeler gangs that consist of everyone from little boys to old men and that they smuggle a lot of drugs and moonshine still in the mountains.

There's a trailer park on the outskirts of town here where a bunch of people from west virginia live. It's like one of them moved down here, and then invited a few friends to come join them, now they're growing exponentially as a population. I think they bring another person down every time a new trailer opens up.:lol:

WV is a great state regardless of the stereotypes.  Some of the most friendly people on Earth.  The college towns are especially awesome.  :thumbup:

Yeah, WVA is cool and the people tend to be way more laid back than those of us who live closer to the beltway...

I live close the the VA/WVA line.  When you get close to WV territory, there's a HUGE white cross at a church along the highway.  That's all I need to know.  I stay away.

ever been to thomas, wv?  it's a beautiful little mountain town that sounds about like it. 

huntington blows, but the countryside is incredible out there

I've seen more acid these past 5 weeks than my entire life. Acid is infinitely more prevalent in WV than Maryland. (excluding Baltimore)

I used to get some AWESOME sheets of brown windowpane from the Morgantown area. Way better than any of the paper I came across in my area. And at a MUCH better price too.
