Bounty hunting in the US.
    #11050081 -

You guys have awesome laws, if I was born over there I would be onto that job instantly.

Anybody in the US ever considered chasing down fugitives for money?

Seems exciting, making arrests and running around the streets in body armour with guns and tasers without the legal obligation of being a police officer.

I suppose, if getting people locked up is the most satisfying business idea you can think of.

I have a friend that does it, he used to play the tough guy, kick in the
door and bust some heads type, I helped him out for a few weeks and
showed him a little better way, same methods I used doing repossessions,
the con. now he knocks on their door with his little name tag or a phone
call to lure them out, it's half the stress and he has a quicker turn
around so he makes more cash

people fall for all sorts of shit

Screw that, I don't want the military to control my life.

The aspect of bounty hunter that appeals to me is working for yourself.

God damn Australia and their reasonable bail laws

you might be working for yourself but the routine would probably get old pretty fast. You wouldn't even really be a 'bounty hunter', more like a bail enforcement officer or w.e. Sit on your ass, fill out a bunch of paperwork, go arrest some idiots, fill out more paperwork.

I think arresting people would be interesting. You're just making re-arrests on people that run rather then actually making new charges (which is the asshole bit).

My personal lifestyle choices conflict heavily with police work, I wouldn't be able to handle all the legal obligations you have as a police officer, you're working within a pretty strict system and I don't agree with the majority of it.

At the end of the day you can go home and still smoke a bong :vaped:

people open the door for the jehovas witnesses or a sales man faster than
they do for a hot chick when they've jumped bond, if nothing else it's to
tell them to fuck off

"have you accepted jesus into your life?"

Australia is nanny state... bounty hunting aside, just the idea of being able to carry a gun in public as a citizen is .

Goddamn, I really wish I could go kit myself out and start hunting someone down.

Bah

They used to come to my door all the time telling me about god. It got real annoying after a while.

We can't even carry a knife in Australia.

To get a gun you have to jump through hoops, have a sparkling record, have a LEGIT reason (you can't use guns for self defence in Australia) to own it.

After the 6-12 month process you get your gun, it has to be stored AT ALL TIMES in a locked safe, with the action broken/bolt removed, unloaded with the ammo locked in a seperate safe... again, you can't use a gun for self defence in Australia, pretty much instant jail. Basically you can't even have a gun ready to shoot in your house and if you did shoot someone with it, lock up time

So yeah, perhaps our crappy gunlaws have made chasing fugitives down look more appealing :vaped:
