Treated cobweb casings now pinning
    #11044573 -

I noticed cobweb mold on my 2 small casings which are both in the same terrarium. The cobweb had pretty much covered the whole of the casings.

Yesterday I misted both casing with pure 3% Peroxide & see the cobweb melting away before my eyes. I didn't hold out much hope though & was preparing to bin them today. Having just looked at them I noticed that both casings are now pinning all over.

I have treated with peroxide again as I could still smell the cobweb but it appears to have cleared up now. Will these casings still be safe to continue with ??

Thanks all.

Thanks for the links brand, after reading them I think its time to toss the whole lot out, scary. Seems a shame as looked like the peroxide was working.

do you think this would work on other kinds of contaminates? and would it kill the mycelium?

3% peroxide will melt cobweb on contact.  You should do it three times, 12 hours apart to get it all.  Peroxide won't help with other molds, but it kills cobweb dead.  There's no need to toss out the substrates, especially if they're pinning now.

Great that's what I wanted to hear RR, I'll treat them one more time then, they are pinning really well.
