1st casing pinning---HELP

my friends first casing has pinned. you can see the mycelium has worked its way to just under the casing material ( straight verm ), but now all growth has stopped, or slowed way down. should he quit misting? he keeps the verm damp, not wet. this is the only variable i can see , everything else is text book, his temps are right etc etc etc
btw they are cambodians, and he has tried cold shocking

I don't mist directly on the casings, when I mist I just keep the wall of the grow chamber a little damp. I'm pretty sure that misting directly on the Mycilium or casing stops pinning. I'm kinda new have done about 10 successful casings. Thats the way I do it. If you keep a bubbler in the container and about an inch of perlite that pretty much all you need.
