Can I use a gypsum and zeolite mixture in place of gypsum?
    #10979744 -

I can't find any crushed gypsum around town, but one garden center has a mixture of gypsum and zeolite.  does anyone know if I can use this in place of plain gypsum for my grains and bulks (increasing the amount based on percentage of gyupsum, of course)?  or, can zeolite somehow screw things up?

thanks

found this on wikipedia about agricultural uses of zeolite:

In agriculture, clinoptilolite (a naturally occurring zeolite) is used as a soil treatment. It provides a source of slowly released potassium. If previously loaded with ammonium, the zeolite can serve a similar function in the slow release of nitrogen. Zeolites can also act as water moderators, in which they will adsorb up to 55% of their weight in water and slowly release it under plant demand. This property can prevent root rot and moderate drought cycles.

Well, read the label. But if that all it is- gypsum and zeolite- I'd say give it a try.

I would think it's fine, and I wouldn't think the K level is too high unless you use alot of it.  If it works great for plants, it should be just fine as an additive for bulk grows at 5-10%.
