Lepiota sp. Maybe?
    #10922649 -

Habitat:
Western Washington.  Alder/Fir/Maple duff.  Not found directly growing out of wood (the pictures show it in an unnatural position).

Gills:
White, slightly attached.

Stem:
About 3 inches long.  Has ring.  Delicate.  White.

Cap:
About 1" in diameter.  Dark umbo, with darker spots fading quickly to white at margin.

Spore print color:
Didn't bring home to spore print, but I assume it would be white, as the gills did not show any discoloration at all on a fully open specimen.

Bruising:
No bruising noticed.

Other Information:
It kinda looked like a mini Chlorophyllum molybdites

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

Doing a little more digging.  L.cristata comes close, but the coloring isn't quite right, and the stipe seems a bit thin on mine compared with the pictures I've seed of L.cristata.

Suggested Leucocoprinus brebissonii from mushroom observer.  Looks like a good match to me.
