going to buy a camera, but dont know whats good?

is candle mode on a camera macro? i was thinking of getting a olympus, but mayby ill just get the 99$  insignia NS-DSC10B 10MP Digital Camera from best buy,has  any one tried that one?

and p.s., why is there no mushroom photography forum?, it might cut the traffic down on mushroom hunting and identification

If I were you I would invest in Canon or Nikon.  I'm a photographer.
They are the best of the consumer brands, in my opinion of course.

Olympus jumped the shark years ago.

I have a Samsung TL100 and I love it. Especially price-wise... definite bang for your buck.

Would've gotten a Canon if the fiancee wasn't so dead-set on it.

You could get a really nice digital SLR setup on craigslist for a few hundred dollars if you want some REALLY nice pictures.
Perhaps a used Nikon D40 or D50.

too much work i like these digital ones, my mom has a fujifil finepix i like, again tho, anyone tried an insignia

If I were you I would stay away from Insignia cameras, unless they've gotten a lot better over the past year.. From what I remember just trying out at the store is that the video, macro and the flash sucks, and probably some other things too.. your money would be better spent on a better camera than that..

For nikon I typically advise against D40/d60 type bodies, as they have no motor.  D50/d70s/d90 have very similar sensors but have the motors, are often cheaper, and all around better in my eyes.  For canon, well, i just don't like canon :shrug:.

i agree with they guy who recommended cannon.  im on my second one and they are pretty sweet compared to the other manufacturers.

for less expensive, get the nikon coolpix S560 and for more expensive get the Nikon D90.
