Suggest a lecturer/orator for me
    #10875623 -

So, unlike a lot of people I really enjoy listening to hours long lectures about politics, culture, and religion, etc. But each person really only has so much to say. So even though I have probably a hundred hours of McKenna, for example, on my hard drive, I've pretty much heard it all.

So if any of you can recommend some speakers for me to look into, that'd be cool.

Some orators that I like:
Terrence McKenna
Michael Parenti
Douglas Rushkoff
Alan Watts
Alex Jones

Some that I don't like that much or at all:
Tim Leary
Daniel Pinchbeck
Michael Tsarian

berkeley podcasts & TED have my fav lectures

check out richard muller

link

edit: *from the titles of the lectures, you may think they are basics, but anyone who hasn't seen it would learn alot from what he has to say*

TED is the shit! if you havn't seen atleast a few of there vid's your missing out. and they have "keywords" under the videos that are quite accurate like: informative, funny, inspirational, boring, etc... they help you find a vid you wanna see

TED - Idea's worth spreading.

Bill Hicks, he's a stand up comedian but has some legitimate things to say.  A lot of his stuff is on youtube.

check out project camelot.

projectcamelot.org

they interview folks that are trying to tell it like it is, in relation to black projects and covert operations.. former employees of governmental agencies, a lot of former military, and some other people just generally involved in the quest for truth.

i would recommend john lear to start with.

http://projectcamelot.org/john_lear.html

in his interview, he expresses his doubts about the ability of the pilots of the 9/11 planes to hit their target, given their training and the general maneuverability of those particular aircraft.  he has been a pilot his entire life, with his father who founded lear jets.  he had a few other pilots try to replicate the incident with flight simulators (to no avail).  this bit of information is but a fraction of his entire presentation.  he is a charming man and he is simply telling the truth as he knows it.

it gets a bit crazy if you really listen to what everyone else has to say.

dan burish talks about some interesting things..

http://projectcamelot.org/dan_burisch.html

time traveling future humans who are trying to work with this timeline to avert a catastrophe that saw their demise.  some alien technology that allows the viewing of possible future events and the origins of that device, etc.

some of the things he speaks of are hard to digest, but if you take it in with an open mind and judge it for yourself, you may find some interesting gems strewn about the beach.

they have a lot of video interviews to browse through.. each speaker has a bio page so you can see what they're all about before you dive in for the typical 1-2 hour venture.

i would also suggest bob dean.  http://projectcamelot.org/bob_dean.html

scroll down a bit to get to his videos.  his wife is atop the page.

if you are interested in extraterrestrials, ufos, illuminati, general cover ups and conspiracy, repressed technology, or free energy, you will surely find something of interest.

and if none of these things interest you, feel free to point and laugh.

Not really a lecture,

but Jello Biafra's spoken word stuff is pretty good and funny at times. He discusses politics and all kinds of things.

Check out the CD Machine Gun in the Clown's Hand - one of his best.

he was the singer for the Dead Kennedy's as well, one of my favorite dudes.

The Teaching Company is awesome, they have lectures from prominent professors and and experts about most anything in history.  The theory of relativity, WW1, WW2, Civil War, world history, american history, anything.
