Police: Officer splashed with liquid LSD during arrest

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- A Saratoga Springs police investigator was splashed with liquid LSD on Saturday evening while taking a suspect into custody, according to the Saratoga Springs Police Department.

Police said the investigator, whose name was not released, was sent to Saratoga Hospital after his hands came into contact with the drug following a foot chase and struggle with Todd Buchas, 30, of Snowberry Road in Ballston Spa.

Officers were attempting to arrest Buchas when he ran from officers and attempted to discard items as he ran, police said.

A brief foot pursuit ended near the Saratoga Springs Public Library. Police said Buchas became combative and resisted arrest, and at one point attempted to bite an officer in the leg.

According to authorities, Buchas was in possession of an item that appeared to be similar to a plastic eyedropper that began spraying LSD, a psychedelic hallucinogen, some of which landed on the hands of the investigator.

After Buchas was placed under arrest, the investigator began feeling the effects of the drug, according to police.

He was taken to the emergency room and was released at around 8:30 p.m.

Police said Buchas was arrested for the obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. He was also being held for second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.

Police said he is being held at the Saratoga Springs Police station pending arraignment in City Court.

"The item" began spraying LSD? That's fucking weird. I've never heard of such an item that sprays LSD on its' own.

Article should read : "As the dumbfuck pig attempted to grab the vial for evidence, he squirted it all over his hand. Seems like something you could potentially get away with even if you weren't being arrested.

Remember the burger king employees who laced the cops burgers with weed?
A substance that is tasteless, powerful, doesn't move you from baseline for almost an hour, and cannot be detected after 48-72 hours seems like it would be easy to dose someone with.
I say everyone should slather their identification with gelatinous LSD in case they need to surrender it to the police for inspection.

no shit. saratoga isn't too far away from me, about an hour's drive. i used to hang out there all the time back in the late '90s. it's a great little town. lots of rich snob fucks though.
