it really is. my dog cured my depression.
I've been feeling like this for a couple of years too. Got a dog last year and he helped heaps, of course I wasn't meant to have him in the house I am living in, and then changed jobs so couldn't leave him at home, had to get rid of him.
I just seem to be putting on more and more weight, smoking more and more weed, becoming more of a recluse (used to be out partying every weekend, now once every few months) and struggling to see what a girl could see in me.
It took me a really long time to get over my girlfriend from 2006 who dumped me after a year, first love blah blah blah, hurt for a good 2 years. Now I'm ready for another woman in my life but seem to have lost the ability to pick one up. I never used to have a problem, and was super confident but now seem to be the complete opposite.
It's really starting to affect me, all my friends are in long term relationships that are all perfect and have been for years (I'm 23) and I'm left wondering where did I miss out? I know there's lots of time left and I should focus on enjoying myself but I really do long for that companionship that no substance / pet can seem to offer like a woman can.
In other words, I know how you feel OP - don't worry, it'll get better for us one day. I just tell myself to keep on smiling.
