I went naked hiking a couple weekends ago. I was somewhat concerned id run into someone. I wish it wasn't like that.

It is ultimately because people are insecure. I also think there is an old mentality of "sacredness" of the genitals, and that the only people that get to see each other naked are lovers.

I do not have a problem with morbidly obese or old people nude. Lets be mature here.

Whoever said: "if you want to be nude, move to a community where it is tolerated" is on the path - ill be naked at burning man, after achieving liberation from the overbearing feeling that i must wear clothes in public, at BM last year.

i believe the opposite of what you said, not everyone wants to be naked. you should have to where clothes, if you don't want to, go somewhere where it's acceptable as previously stated, because to most of us, it's pretty disgusting. if i was at burning man and there was a naked guy running around, i'd get as far away as possible has nothing to do with sexuality or any of that - i just don't want to see your hippy white ass.

If you look at this thread, it has little to do with sacredness and more with being alienated from how real people look naked. And especially the ones that don't immediately appeal to their tastes.

Individuality in society has led to everybody painting themselves into their own corner.

Many shroomerites have gotten to the point they feel physically sick when they see someone they find unattractive.

Even for females.

pfxtc - i don't have anything against clothes. I like them a fair bit. Sure couldn't imagine riding my motorcycle or welding without them.

The real issue i have is social conformity. Fear of the unknown + intolerence. I have an issue with following stupid expectations for no reason.

Being naked is natural, its fun. I like having some air on my ass and dink, keeps everything fresh. When hiking, you sweat less!

To tell you the truth - i stripped down at BM to confront my own fears, and in doing so liberated my mind in ways which impact my life on a daily basis. Who wouldja thought that getting naked in public could be a revolutionary act? - by being naked in public i overcame a huge amount of fear about being judged, and i learned to feel more comfortable than ever in my own skin.

A prelude: when i hitchhiked to my first festival, i met some other traveller kid who wanted to go swimming, and we went skinny dipping.

That was like "OMG, can i actually do this, er... like, what if my penis is small, and my thighs are white, what if what if..."

and then i did it, and it was fun and i realized there that being outside naked, is great.

Also - I remember when i was little kid, my dad use to walk around the house naked and open the front curtains giving the world a full frontal. I always thought he was weird... but i guess once i overcame my feelings of insecurity, i learned a little something from him.

Clothes have their place i guess. But so does being naked. I dont think being naked should contained to the bedroom with a lover.

Do you sleep naked, or walk around naked in your house? If not - its great. Try it!

I've been going swimming at the public people, and think its pretty cool the fat people, and old people who go to get a bit of water exercise and sit in the sauna or hottub. Good on em for not feeling shame, ya know?
