people who wear rasta colors

wearing rasta colors: red, green, yellow, when you're not actually rasta, and don't really understand what it is to be a real rasta, is the only reason you wear those colors because you think weed is cool and you want to think you're like a rasta?

think about what a real rasta would think if they saw some white kid with blond hair on a skate board with rasta colored weed leaves all over their hat

the reactions I've gotten from my "rasta" wrist-band thing I picked up from some afro-'merican on the streets of NYC have been from all kinds-a people ranging from fellow tokers, which is never a bad thing, to the jerk-faces who get laughed at and an obnoxious stoned grin to continue looking at.

I just think it's fun to wear around --
I'm not hurting anybody but myself possibly because of these bullshit laws -- it's just cool the reaction these colors on a long haired "punk" get.

The teller at my local TD seems to enjoy my presence when I'm sporting my "im stoned and amped up" wristband :shrug:

That's such a stupid fad.

The other stoner fad that bothers me is the Che Guevara shirts and whatnot.
I would bet good money that the majority of the people wearing them have absolutely no idea who Che Guevara actually was.

It's not really a fad though, eh? I agree with you on the whole stereotypical "anti-establishment" youth and their strange love with that murderous "revolutionary".

Kids wearing a shirt because other people who support their "cause" also sport a che` tee and idolize the man, ranking him up there with MLK Jr as an activist.
-- that's a fad.
Once they dig a bit deeper and find the truth for themselves instead of buying what everybody else is doing, they'll begin to grow and hopefully stand up for what they believe in without the need for a Che` banner or whatever to get their message across.

However rasta colors and things like 4/20 are so ingrained the in stoner-lifestyle (reggae, ska, etc -- ay I guess I'm pretty stereotypical, eh ;]) that I doubt it'll ever be forgotten or dismissed as a fad.

- maybe it is a fad. :shrug: -- I'll go smoke a j and contemplate it after my other business is attended to.

It's less stupid than the original rasta beliefs.  ie: that this guy is the son of god..

well, i wasn't trying to prove who is wrong or who is right, but it reminds me of the time when i was a little kid using words like fuck and shit but didn't have any understanding of what they meant. i just knew a very basic meaning of the words: that they were considered bad by other people.

just like people wearing rasta shit, they don't know what it means, they just have that very basic understanding that its related to weed.
