every beverage produces a different drunk. Gin makes you lazy, whiskey makes you get rowdy and crazy.

Beer has a different drunk entirely. Also depends greatly on the type of beer too

I'm half way through my bottle of wine and feelin half stoned half drunk. Goofy in general.

Whiskey brings me down. And i can't drink enuf beer to get drunk.

I drink beer to stay sober.
However when I drink liquor.......:puke:

I don't get different buzzes from different types of liquor. Nothing active in there besides ethanol (that I know of)

Beer definitely gives me a different buzz than liquor though. I have to assume it's a result of the hops.

Wine gives me almost the same buzz as liquor, only difference is I feel a bit more dehydrated and get acid-belly if I have too much.

I find that beer provides a "classic" drunk, wine produces a goofy/silly euphoria on top of drunkeness, and that liquor has a kind of "edge" to it.

I think it comes down to a placebo set/setting effect but I'm okay with that.

If I want goofy - wine
If I want trashed - whiskey
If i want social - vodka

ect.

Definitely.

Beer tends to be a bit dull for me unless I drink a lot.
I've been approaching alcohol as a drug and find that an ounce of pure alcohol gets me twice as high when its in booze vs when its in lager.

Know what you should try to see a difference? Champagne.  A little goes a long way.

I'm very fond of pastis in summer - 1 part Ricard or Pernod, 5 parts ice cold water. Delicious and one glass actually cools you down.

It's the same chemical in different doses.


That's the only reason it appears to give you a different buzz because more or less alcohol is hitting you depending on the beverage.

In all of my alcohol endeavors I've never tried champagne. Not even on New Years.

wine gives me a happy/giddy drunk
everclear makes me feel kind of stoned after a shot

Not true.

There is the dose yes, but there is presence or absence of CO2 and/or Sugar, concentration and temperature, all of which have an effect on how the drink hits you.

Never gotten drunk off wine.
  Beer is more of a slow drunk; it takes longer to get drunk, and I don't notice it as much because I generally don't drink beer to get drunk...but hell, six beers later, it happens. For some reason, although I hate beer, I keep sipping it when it's out.
  I notice I get very drunk with liquor because I always have liquor with the intent to get shitfaced...and all my stupefied, drunk, belligerent drunk stories are from liquor

  I like liquor the best for drunk, wine the best for social occasions, though I don't drink very often. Maybe once every couple of months.

i think it all feels pretty much the same. if there is a differnce its too sublte for me to notice. i think its more set aand setting. in certain atmospheres i can drink as much beer as i want all night and not get tired but sometimes just two beers can make me feel tired as shit.
