spore prints off dry mushies?

what kind of time period is there  to take a print? is it possible to take one off of a dried mushie thats been in a bag since picking?

It all relies on the cap integrity, moisture content, age, etc.  You generally look to prepare a print as soon after the collection of the specimen as possible.

I have heard that if you prepare the dry cap for a spore print and drop a few drops of water on it, slowly allowing it to absorb the moisture, you have a chance of retrieving a print.  Have done this with semi-dry specimens and think it may work with completely dry ones.  It is worth a shot though.  Report back any results!
