what mushrooms have black spore prints

im sorry if this aint suposed to be in here but i keep finding these mushrooms everywhere to me they look like pan subs the spore print is jet black it has the band around the cap and like a hour after picking it it turn a light tanish color and the ring dissapears the stem is real skinny like toothpick skinny the gills do not appear attached and also the gills hang down below the cap they are found all over in lawns and on the side of sidewalks on main roads i could post a pic but it will be shitty quailty ill try to get a better camera than a webcam soon. sorry ill stop rambling now thanks in advance for anyhelp

Hey dude. I'm pretty sure you might be picking pan subbs. Your description of the stem sounds like a Pan Foenesii though. What color is the stem? I'm thinking that they are Pan Subbs because of the jet black spore print. If it was brownish/purple then they'd be Pan Feons. Good luck and happy trips.

Your mushrooms sound like they are probably Panaeolus of some sort. You should pick a couple, then take the time to key them out. If you don't have a book with a key, then compare your mushrooms to the descriptions in the FAQ and see what you've got. By the time you're done you will have learned a lot more about how to tell what kind you've got, which will help you a bunch the next time you find some.

ill go out in a couple days and go round up a bunch and borrow my parents digital camera and get some good pics i see these things everywhere
