Any one know what these are? They have sturdy hollow stems,black spores, and normally grow in grassy areas (although I've found'em a couple of times in a crush and run covered driveway). They're fairly common, I've been finding 'em for the last 20 years, but I've never been sure what they were. The first time I found one (20 years ago), I thought it was a pan subb, but since I didn't see any bluing, I figured it wasn't.
I'm guessing it's a paneaolus of some type.

my guess would be that those are some brand of Psathyrella
-Like Sasperella, but with a sassy-"Psathy"
My first guess would be that Im not sure.
My second guess would be something close to being the Velvety Psathyrella, or Psathyrella velutina..or a close variation of that, but the caps do not have the velvety look to them.
Anyways, love seeing these pics.

Hey GG,
I sho 'nuff got me a new camera. I guess I went a little picture taking crazy, but it's a lot of fun.
As for what they are,your guess is the same as mine. The closest thing I've found (in any books)are the Psathyrella velutina's, but I agree with you GGreatOne, the caps don't have that look, although they do feel somewhat velvety. That's what I've been calling 'em all these years anyway(Velvety Psathyrella's), but I wanted some of you folks to take a look at'em and see what ya'll thought.

doo.. I know what you mean about the digi-cam. Can't get enough. I call mine my "4th eye." I just get blank stares when I say that to others.. what the hell's he talkin' about...4th eye??

Hey hey, liking that camera bro :) Those are definately velvety psythrella, I pick them by the truck loads around here. They can sure look magic, but the velvety cap is a dead give away.
