hardwood oak forest



Stem:
solid

Cap:
in the pic the smallest is about 2" and the largest is 4" round about




Other information:
i picked them today in southern illinois and help would be great im looking for new edible mushrooms,..

Nice Chanterelles!  Those are the Smooth Chanterelle (Cantharellus lateritius) specie.  Great edibles, try the dry-saute method.  Njoy!  :peace::redpanda:

Nice Find!! i Love chanterelles using the Dry-Sautee. I used it on Some Winter Chanterelles (Cantharellus Tubaeformis) and the taste reminded me of the most succulent Chicken top ramen ever.

Thank you all much i thought they were Cantharellus just did not know what one. im on a learnig curve here, there are a ton of these right now, i could have filled a 5 gal bucket in 30 min today, i will be going back tomorrow, once again thank you all
