Final day of trade deadline. Lots of activity!
    #10775229 -

Red Sox trade Justin Masterson and two minor leaguers for Victor Martinez.

Tigers acquire Jarrod Washburn...

Peavy traded to the White Sox!

Red Sox also acquire Casey Kotchman...fuck.

And O.C. to the Twins..

Kotchman for Adam LaRoche?  What was the point of that?
I'm damn glad they got Victor instead of Adrian or Roy.  Not for my team but for the Yanks.  Victor isn't all that anymore and if he isn't going to catch a lot he isn't much of an upgrade.  Talking real baseball, not our game.

I don't really understand Peavy the the WS.

A fly ball pitcher going from the best pitchers park in baseball to the best hitters park?

And isn't he on the shelf for the whole year?

With like a $25 million dollar salary for the next few years?

That's pretty odd.

Yeah, is he even gonna throw a pitch again this year?  If so, when, October?

As for LaRoche/Kotchman I mean, at least Kotchman has (IMO) more upside...

I dunno.  LaRoche is a career second half warrior.  Kotchman?  Eh.  Seemed pointless.
Masterson was, I think, a lot to give up. I know one Sox fan who thought quite highly of him.  I don't know if they think they're going to catch Victor much.  It's not for nothing Cleveland mostly played him at first.

Krotchman has pretty much no upside. His bat just doesn't play very well, especially not at first. LaRoche is at least a legitimate power hitter, he has a thirty home run season to his credit.

The (Rolen) trade does seem pretty strange all around and rather pointless. The Indians got totally fucking taken in the Cliff Lee trade.

I think the Indians will be fine. The organizations that are really in trouble are in Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Kansas City, San Diego, and probably Houston and Toronto (jp ricciardi should be canned ASAP) as well.

Tribe traded Victor? I dont care what you say, he is a good player and if you place him in a good order and
just let him hit for average, he's a catcher that can easily bat over .300

now, throwing guys out is a different story.
