Black undeveloped caps

I have no pics, but the strain is PESA and I'm in a monotub on straight hpoo.

The stalks are long and skinny, but the usualy golden caps I get are now a sickly looking black, undeveloped, and it has some kind of white fuzzy stuff over the black caps.

I think I may have seen something similar here in the shroomery, but I can't find it.

Any help? My guess is lack of FAE.

I did another search and I think they may suffer from "inky cap"

Would they still be okay to eat?

Maybe clone?? This is my only shot to preserve this strain.

I know, cruddy camera.

But notice hoe the caps appear all mushy, and there is this white fuzzy stuff that wipes off with a pass of the finger.

Safe to eat?

Maybe clone? I can't lose this strain! =(

It is highly possible that those are not Psilocybe cubensis at all. Inky cap mushrooms (coprinoid) seem to have colonized your substrate instead of cubes

Take a better picture please

Don't eat those; they aren't active. You might be better off buying a new syringe from a sponsor, depending on what your procedure was...

Those are not worth cloning, since they are not a usable species

Those don't look like P. Cubensis. Pretty sure ABC is correct. How did you pasteurize your bulk substrate?

Here is the picked ones about a day later all dry up.

I pasteurized with 175F water, for about 2 hours.

I could see how other I could have gotten other spores in there as well to though....

Crap. I guess I'll have to find a way to acquire another strain. =(
