the way it currently works with medicare, medicade and the VA is
that we pay all this money in taxes in to ensure that those that
have little can have health care, and although they make it
difficult to get, once you die they take any assets you may have
acquired in order to make sure they're paid back

The moon is rich in an element called Helium-3, which could help advance fusion power to a level that could solve many of our energy problems.  Then again, I personally think we could solve our energy problems by intelligently using the renewable energy sources we currently have available in an integrative fashion.

So yeah, it's basically interplanetary dick-waving.

I dont think anybody is seriously considering mining for He3 to bring back to earth.  It would be used for energy there on the moon for whatever moon activities they do.

The moon would be an excellent place to work on creating a base off our planet.

Its only a 3 day trip to get there, and we would learn a lot by constructing a permanent colony there.

Going to mars is a bad idea.

The main reason is that while we do have the technology to go to mars, there is no known technology that could get someone back from mars.  So it would be a very lonely, one way mission, condemning some brave soul(s) to never be able to see another person again.  Resupply missions would take many years and the cost would be enormous compared to a moon colony.  Seems as though it would be better to send robots to mars and experiment with an international human colony on the moon, similar to the International Space Station.

makes sense..............    but I think we can learn a lot from mars and maybe even find some new species -  I doubt there are living beings up there- but maybe there are plants, and when they go to mars they will discover a new type of marijuana or cancer curing chemical's  :mushroom2:

Because that is never going to happen...........untill money is obsolete anyway.


  A moon base would be cool ,we need to get off this rock before the entire human race is extinct from some natural disaster or disease.......I have always said we need to establish ourselves in space to insure the continuation of the human race.


Nothing wrong with a trip to mars too.....a one way mission might be desirable for some........:shrug:
