"My own opinion is that the case for full moon effects has not been made," said Ivan Kelly, a Canadian psychologist at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Kelly has published 15 papers on the topic and reviewed more than 50 others, including one that covered some 200 studies. He concludes that there is not strong evidence of an effect.

meh... the moon has enough magnetic energy to effect the tides of every ocean.. humans are almost 80% water..

I am of the opinion that the case for the full moon has been made time and time again. Just simply observing human behaviour during certain stages of the moon can show results. During the new moon I notice people feeling apathetic, sluggish.. especially cancers.. who are ruled by the moon. The full moon has an intense energy. Just based on my own observations and experiences alone I would say the moon definitely has an effect on the human psyche.

The sun effects us, the moon effects us, and the many planets in our solar system effect us, in more ways than one I would imagine. But then again.. I'm not a canadian psychologist..

What of the cops in cities who report significantly more activity during the full moon? What of the psychologists who report the same? What of the Shroomism seeing crazy people running around on the full moon?

oh just take a look into OTD last night and see what I mean..

ok I read the links.. but I could probably pull up links that say the exact opposite..

like these

http://fampra.oupjournals.org/cgi/content/full/17/6/472
http://sea-river.com/148_4_gb.php
http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/health/HealthRepublish_226987.htm
http://www.economist.com/finance/displayStory.cfm?Story_ID=824707

it appears the moon does effect animal as well as human behaviour.. this may or may not account for OTD insanity

Now compare the number of studies who find an effect, and the number who don't find an effect.

You will find that around 1- 2% of all studes find a tiny, tiny effect.

You can use your judgemnt what this means on the whole.

Wow, this link is particularly terrible.
http://sea-river.com/148_4_gb.php

it says "Statistics prove that numbers of criminal attacks increase during these nights and numbers of births are also higher."
What a blatant lie! If anything, the statistics prove the exact opposite!

im having serious problems once a month to fall asleep and find myself
in bed for HOURS tryint to get some sleep.
i particularely noticed that these sleepless nights are often the day before
or after fullmoon, rarely @ fullmoon.
i put this into direct connection with the moon,
since it always happenes around fullmoon time and going to bed at midnight,
it is nothing special for me to find myself still awake at 3am...

a fact especially annoying since i got university each day and
cannot afford to loose my dose of sleep...

i wonder what riddles the moon inherits we do not even know of yet.

it is true. tonight in my tiny town, there was a bank robbery 3 blocks away, one officer shot, a standoff hostage situation. was walking through downtown a little while later and i saw a high speed chase, some cops trying to box a guy in. also ran into a few drunk weirdos. almost had to kick some ass

Anyway. Everyone have a good night. :mushroom2:
