i bought a shitty electric coffe grinder which doesnt make my brown rice to 100% flour! there are small pieces of rice which cannot become flour.
does it matter?

Use a blender, coffee grinders suck, unless you pay top dollar. I bought my blender at a thrift store for $3. New ones are like $12.

Just curious, what benifits does Chunky BRF provide over fine BRF? Fast colonization times? Stronger Myc.? Bigger fruit?

More airy substrate... but there are different opinions bout this... chunks are more difficult to sterilize than powder.

I have found that I get faster colonization and stronger looking mycellium from using chunky flour. Both finely ground and chunky flour work well, there's a difference, but nothing earth shattering. I just prefer to grind my own, since I already have organic long grain brown rice in the house for regular dietary purposes. Plus it only takes a minute or two.

I don't think so you should be a ble to get away with just boiling it cause as far as I know the pf tek is pretty forgiving as far as sterility is concerned just try again and the best of luck to you.

You will be fine with boiling :smile:

Don't forget to use the oven tek when innoculating, I believe it helps greatly to avoid contamination.

I dont have an oven, I dont have hot running water... I dont even have a real stove (single electric burner that plugs into the wall) I'm that wierd guy who lives all by him self out in the middel of nowhere. I dont really have contam problems with standard BRF jars. Only since I started trying grains that I lost alot of shit.
