mmmm salad......ok just kidding, I admit its a risk, but if no contams then man its gonna be the biggest cake pf tek the shroomery has ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
actually if that 3-pint cake works, im gonna try a 5-pint and later on, gallon jars! I may even use mycobags that hold 2 gallons, provided I get a bigger PC. I could use wild bird seed and then when its colonized, case it in 4 trays or bowls!

Dude, why do you have the idea that bigger is better when working with substrate. Put it in these terms, if we started growing at the same time, I do 3 pints of birdseed, you do your 3 pint cake, mine would be done fruiting its second flush by the time you birthed yours.

8 quart pressure cooker. It barely fit in the 6 quart. the 5-pint bowl is gonna be a little tight for the 8 quart. I may just use the 5 pint bowl to mix the substrate, dunk the cakes or just for casing. There are diminishing returns on any jar above a quart and anything over a gallon is redicilious. I may not use the 3-pint bowl many times, maybe even only once as a fun experment then ill try casing, seeds or a mycobag

thats true, but if yours gets contamed, youd be washing it off in bleech while I birth my megacake!

How many times have ppl allready used large autoclavable bags and fruited them as huge cakes in hydropods???
Too many to mention, just take a look at growing edbiles like Pink Oyster.

Now you make a small cake and think it`s a mega-cake?!?!?!

I swear this kid must have learning disabilites.. jesus. pf cakes are not meant to be grown for anything larger than a 1/2 pint jar, they grow to slow. all you're going to get is contams.. why will you not listen to us? if you want a real bulk tek that is productive stop wasting your time and inoculate some birdseed in a one pint jar, and spawn it to some dung... I bet a newbie like you would have a higher success rate doing that then this foolish huge pf cake idea.

Dude cakes suck, catch a wake-up and move on to casings.
Don`t experiment with different cakes, there is no real point.
Unless ofcourse you don`t really want many mushrooms and rather want to experiment until you are satisfied that cakes are incredibly limited.

I don`t own a horse, but yet my store room is full of straw and dung???
I don`t either have straw growing?? where did I get that from.

at least if you use the bags you could crumble it up and that would speed colonization.
