Nirvana
    #10592140 -

I've been getting back into Nirvana a bit this week.  I think Nirvana is still the best mainstream band there is--------Kurt Cobain's voice was stellar and they knew how to rock out.    Kurt Cobain also had great taste in music- he was a fan of all the good bands back in the day like Black Flag, Pixies, etc.

The mystery still remains about his death. :suicide:

Feel free to post anything about Nirvana

I can get into them when I hear them, and I respect the enormous impact they had on music, but I almost never put them on myself. There's just too much other stuff I'd rather listen to usually.

"Hope I die before I become Pete Townsend"

I've read his journals, they painted a pretty clear picture about what happened.

Kurt Cobain was fucked in the head, he killed himself no question about it (and even if he didn't he would have eventually). Nirvana was pretty fucking awesome though.

Wait, Cobain's voice was stellar?

...

He's a terrible singer man! Fuck Nirvana, AIC is a million times superior.

Both are over-rated.

Yeah, he also laughed about The Who being good.

I don't even know who the fuck AIC is, or at least I'm not familiar with the acronym.

Edit: Never mind, Alice in Chains I'm assuming.

~I don't care for AIC  Really my only problem with NIrvana is that listening to them can get me into angsty mode :mad2:

I try not to listen to so much negative music.

Same goes for Elliott Smith- who's story is kinda similar to Kurt Cobain

Layne Staley is one of the most talented singers in Rock. Chris Cornell is up there too.

Sorry that I find The Who terribly boring, my apologies. I apologize too for thinking that Kurt Cobain can't sing, can't play guitar and overall sucks. Dave Grohl is cool though

I also find the Who incredibly boring, but I don't really like too much mainstream music

Favorites? Hard to say, I'm one of those people with 400 gigs of music :vaped:

Off the top of my head though...

Maudlin of the Well
DJ Shadow
Mark Farina
Pantera
Down
Alice in Chains
Mad Season
Megadeth
Devin Townsend Band
Faith No More
Mr. Bungle
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Aesop Rock
Glassjaw
Incubus
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Mars Volta
311
Third Eye Blind
Queens of the Stoneage
Kyuss
Lykathea Aflame
Cryptopsy
Darkest Hour
Lamb of God

Real big into most things Metal, anything trippy (Psy-Trance, Electronica, Dub) and pretty much anything. I do like music to feel "trippy" though. Which is why I don't like the Who and do like Pink Floyd. One band is just plain rock, the other I feel has so much soul to it. Most bands I listened to are fronted by people into psychedelics and weed coincidentally enough :mushroom2:
