Re: Why wake and bake?? [Re: deimya]
    #10576906 -

This question is stupid. I work 5 out of the 7 days in a week. If I want to fire up a bong on a Sunday morning in my free time and go about my day- why the fuck not?

I enjoy smoking during in the day when I can go outside and do things much more than at night where the options are more limited.

Just curious, what makes one just awaken and go right for the weed? Do you not like life that much? Im for real wondering how you just wake up to alter your mind frame without even giving it a chance.

Sometimes its so fucking nice to wake and bake. You get up stretch out in bed comfy as fuck and smoke a fatass joint. You think alot and everything feels perfect. I fucking love weed.

what I don't understand is how you can get up in the morning and just alter your normal reg day feeling with weed.

the exact same way I might alter my normal reg day feeling with coffee or nicotine or antidepressant or whatever. It's for whatever kind of jolt that results from the mix of a substance together with one's mood and morning dispositions. You're constantly "high" on a whole set of different substances throughout your day anyway, so the only difference might be that I consciously and purposefully chose to use one in the morning. It sounds like for you, such a conscious choice, such an exercise of one's liberties is dirty and "unnatural" and correlate with some latent personal problems, whence your question. Yet I could only trace it back to the weird assumption that there is a "moral" or "ethical" way of starting your day and that drugs are bad m'kay ?

In other words, from the way you formulated it, your question seems loaded with misconceptions and assumptions about other people's life, motivations, intentions and habits, and that's why you get such kind of answers; they are as loaded of assumptions about you as your question was about those targeted by it. Whether you like it or not, it's hard to get past the ugly orthodox view on drug uses that shines right through your words.

Cheers, for the sake of compassion I'll hit one for you tonight  :jah: :sun:

OK, so first things first. You are altering your mental by smoking weed, Thats your choice I could care a less as I have a diff way of living life. I am only asking this question because I am curious as to why one would willingly just wake up yawn and say "Damn im trying to smoke". Its like 9 in the morning don't you wanna go to work sober.. What about school, do you want to be high for that to? I guess what I'm saying is in order for one to just get up in the morning to smoke on a reg basis is one of two things :

1) You would be mentally addicted to this drug
2) You would want to change your life and the things that you are doing based on the sear fact of you waking up to get high and then going to sleep high... When are you sober?

and then eventually it would all revolve around habit because you would be wake N bake all the time so it would then become part of your schedule. And that is the breakdown of

                      WAKE N BAKE

Why not wake and bake?

It's feels good to only take a couple bong rips and be stupid stoned for the first hour or so of the day.

Doesn't sound like curiosity to me. More like you're trying to frame people in accordance with your taboos. But I'm probably wrong.

My answer remains the same though; there's nothing particular to wake'n'bake. It's spontaneous or ritualistic like everything else, at a time of the day like any other, with a substance like any other (coffee, tea, sugar, etc). Wake'n'bake or staying in bed until noon, it's the same thing to me.

Sobriety is very relative. Some people get high on adrenaline or endorphins, and I wouldn't call a workaholic anything like "sober", yet I'm pretty sure many would.

There's more to human behaviours and experiences that can be fitted in a naive two-state mentality of "sober" or "high", "addicted" or not, "loser" or "winner", "drug free" or "abuse", "sane" or "insane".

But on the other hand you might very well be simply curious, maybe coming up with somewhat funny and naive hypothesis about why would someone do this. My only recommendation would be, "experience it yourself", that's the closest answer you will get. If not then too bad, but recognize your limited take on it, and keep asking

I'm not sure if wake and bake implies that you roll right over and fire one up. I get up, take a shit and then fire up the bong for one or two rips before I head off to class (university). I don't drink coffee and the giddiness I feel after the bong instills me with a certain ferver that enables me to sit there and pay attention for hours (4). I like adventure, and every morning when I leave stoned it's like another adventure. I don't avoid life, I face it head on with a glint in my eye and a giggle in my stomach. I guess if you are a die hard smoker and you still don't empathize then you may not ever enjoy the coveted Wake and bake.

good answer, that's pretty much why i like wake n bakes.

I love wake n baking just as much as anyone else...

Though I stopped doing it before school. When I'm high I find it easier to just say fuck it and not really care about anything. I don't get much done that way but if I don't smoke before school you know the first thing I'm gonna do when I get out of class is smoke. That way makes it much more rewarding too.  :peace:

Agreed. It is a good combo, caffeine and weed. Although I prefer tea. Regular lipton brand...three teabags in one cup. LOL

However, sometimes I like just going about my day for as long as possible before toking. I like the anticipation of knowing I will get high later, but not actually being high. And I do like being high as well.

I guess it just depends on what I feel like that day. Usually I don't wake and bake though.

My first smoke of the day is always the best high for me

Smoking after waking up is usually more effective for me than normal

It just adds up that way i guess.  If i got better effects from baking before sleep i would be sleeping and taking naps alot more often  :vaped:

Waking and Baking is the SHIT!!!!
I don't get to do it as regularly as I would like, that whole work thing.
But Sunday, I get up, make a pot of coffee and smoke out.
Spend the next 3 hours reading on the deck.

Pure :bliss:

Best way to start a Sunday. Besides, I like being high.
Whats wrong with waking and baking? I've only known a couple of people that take it too far. By that I mean they smoke sun up to sundown and escape their responsibilities (i.e. work, school, family functions, paying BILLS)

Yeah, it's like coffee.  I get an immediate sense of 'awake' to start my day, rather than stumbling around and moaning that I'd rather be sleeping.

same here. love it.

smoke before i get in the shower to goto the office on many of days.

Yeah, no kidding. A lot of seasoned stoners can still get their shit done and smoke as much weed as they want.

I considered myself "barely trying" last quarter in college and I got high nearly every day. Pulled a 3.0GPA for that quarter.

I could get straight 4.0 if I had just put in a *little* extra effort.
