Cops have searched through my phone after I got arrested once. Luckily I had just cleaned out and deleted all the old messages on my phone, and the only one that I had on there was to my mom or something. I wonder what would have happened if they had seen all the incriminating texts that I did have.

I thought most cell phone companies stored text messages for 90 days.

Just recently I bought 2 ounces of shrooms and later that day my guy got pulled over while driving with my order.

The cops looked through his phone and we had previously sent texts regarding the shrooms, however in the messages we referred to them as "boomers." I guess the cops didn't make the connection because I never got busted and they must have seen my number. Had they known that boomers was a name for shrooms I may have found myself in deeper shit.

I seriously doubt you could say anything in a text message that could cause you to get in trouble unless you were already under hardcore investigation for something.

I've said all kinds of crazy shit in texts, including drug related stuff. Even things more serious. Never had any problems. Too many text messages out there with people full of shit, if they acted on them all, they would find that they would be wasting time.
Who's to tell what text messages are true and which aren't? It's all hear say, tons of 12-16 year old kids texting all kinds of bullshit, it floods the whole market out.

i had cops search through my phone once when i got busted with research chems.  They went through all my numbers, texts and when they raided my room they took all my notebooks and read through them and even my phikal because i was studying the synthesis on the drugs figuring out if theres anyway to cross over new rc's.. nosy fuckers!

I know that this situation isn't drug related..... but did anyone hear of the charges against the mayor of detroit over a text message scandal??? I wouldn't trust text messaging!

I'd be worried about them being stored by the phone company.

texts are just heresay, but they don't help and my spark some curiosity in a police.

there are a few type of circumstances where it no good though. there are documented cases, even some that have been posted on the shroomery news, where somebody via text message explicitly asked a cop holding  the phone for drugs or trying to sell drugs. some of these cases did lead to a meeting with the phone owner for drugs which is where the cop was able to have the right to arrest the person.

so it can't directly hurt you, but there is potential risk in situations that may result from text messages.

Just assume that anything you type, text or say over the phone or the internet.. is permanently stored in some database somewhere.
