let someone waterboard you and youll change your opinion FAST.

even if its simulated your body automatically responds to drowning and its baaaad.

been there, done that, it's not torture, it's not simulated drowning

If it's none of those things, what's the incentive to even do it?

to give soldiers a hobby and keep them from really brutalizing prisoners

I couldn't watch the video on this browser. But with any "interrogation" how do you know he's not bullshitting, so they'll stop. I bet all of us would spew information they're wanting to hear. Whether it's fact or fiction.

You're claiming water boarding is not done for information or to torture prisoners.
Rather it's done for entertainment.
Nothing related to being in a combat unit there.
If you still think there is go right a head and explain your logic for me.

I've yet to see a Prisoner # 1 post in which he's willing to take the popular side.

the media blitz was all about torture and waterboarding,
everyone and their brother was doing their own demonstration and
most lasted until there was slight discomfort, usually around 20
seconds

are we to believe that something that lasts only 20 seconds is
to be considered torture when there's no physical harm,
restricted breathing, still well under a minute, death doesnt
happen until about 4 minutes... I mean shit, if waterboarding is
so effective, last 30 seconds, I'd say it's a win/win for everyone

Those who have been water boarded do not describe it as "slight discomfort" like you have.
Unbearable stress is more like it. And those in Gitmo don't get to tell the interrogators when to stop.

I'm pro-war, I support the war on terror. I also believe these are people and must be treated with respect.

see my previous posts including the one that describes real
torture, now imagine that not only have you suffered those
previous mentioned techniques, the ones that havent killed but
try a demonstration, slip on the shoes with the thickest soles
you can find, now have one of your friends whack the bottoms of
those shoes with a hardwood dowel about an inch thick, dont let
him hold back... after youve experienced that pain, then try it
with no shoes

So, on that same reasoning. We should legalize robbery, to help prevent criminals from murdering. You can't justify allowing one inhumane act, because it's lesser than the more extreme one.

If soldiers brutaly torture because they need a "hobby". They need to face a judge. Military is not a place of hobby. They're not there to be entertained. It's a service.

Try 20 hours straight of the old waterboard.....

Besides that anyone who has actually pulled fingernails with pliers and pulled teeth out of someones head knows it does not get anything done, people man up and spit in your face and dont give any information at all.

It doesn't. It's just getting to the point that I see your posts and I have a hard time taking them seriously because they always take such a radical opposing view.

So if I murder you with a clean shot to the head - instant kill, no pain, it's somehow justified because I could have beaten you to death slowly?

If something isn't morally correct, it doesn't matter how painful it is.

my statement is in reference to the media, maybe if you wouldnt
try applying it to every aspect of this topic you'd grasp it a
little easier

here's torture, really can cost you your life

of course it causes stress, just being locked up causes stress, being a muslim and being smeared in pigs blood causes unbearable stress as well, is that also torture?

is having your head cut from your body also stressful

the point behind it is fear, fear causes panic, it stems from
the lack of control, the inability to move at all, to avoid any
unpleasntries

WTV. Prisoner, with all due respect, I think it takes a real asshole to try to justify treating humans that way.

I'm going to crack some shots out now, so I'll prolly refrain from making real arguments.

it's sarcasm but in all honesty, it' does stop far more brutal
occurances, we've all heard about some of the other shit,
waterboarding should be the least of the concerns

you didn't address my quote. you rarely get accurate information through "slight discomfort". Why would someone leak information if it's  just a "slight discomfort". There's also a difference between being "tortured" in a prison setting, and at home for experiment. There's also different ways to waterboard. Stress is harmful to the physical body, you may not see scars on your skin, but you've done a degree of damage. It's not all in the head.

I wont claim devils advocate because in this instance I'm not,
did you know clinton put us in the middle of a war in the 90s,
I'm sure you heard of Radovan Karadzic, recently tried for his
war crimes against the peoples of bosnia, maybe slobodan
milosovich,  zeljko raznatovic and Arkans Tigres... I've seen
the result of their work, know what, the NATO forces were not
much better, even to the refugees...I've seen what boredom and
combat stress can do to a 12 year old girl so waterboarding is
kindergarten shit in comparison, most of this 'US Torture' in
guantanamo is a walk in the park... since it's not like the little girl had any information to give

dead is dead, sure it matters when it's happening but once it's over it's not like I'm going to care, of course you wont get all the pertinent information you'd like if it's a clean shot

why not start with the foot

and this has to do with popularity? waterboarding isnt painful,
it;s frightening, it's a scary experience, but it's not painful,
unless you consider your heart jumping out of your chest painful
but that's just panic talking, in fact I'm sure you;ve
experienced fear or fright on that level a few times, was that torture

is war morally correct?

you said you support the war on terror

well fuck, looks like most of us shouldnt go to work, work is
just another form of torture, it's a violation of the geneva
conventions
