Anybody ever drink cheap wine?

I've drank good wine before.

My personal spending limit is about $15, but my stepmom has turned me on to some classier shit.

Anyway, they sell wine called Oak Leaf at Wal-Mart for $2.97.
It looks like any other bottle and they've got about 6 flavors.
I bought a bunch of them to halfway fill up my winerack and pub table that has a wine rack, but I keep drinking them!

They are not that bad.
Because it's cheap wine, it's sweeter than most wines and quite easy on the pallette.
I like the Cabernet Sauvignon. :borfase:

If I'm drinking wine with my buddies, I don't really mind the cheap kind. It just can't be too sweet though otherwise it'll give me a headache. I'm not very picky about wines but my girlfriend is. When I drink some with her it must be class.

My pop always has some at his place so I drink it when I am there.  Its so-so I guess, but then again, I'm a beer guy so I don't know too much about wine really.

Like anything really, most cheap wine is teh shite but there's some OK stuff out there and of course it's a matter of preference. I used to get wasted all the time on cheap wine but these days...no can do. Taste refines with experience. But there's no harm in getting wasted on the rough stuff every so often! :grin:

I'll drink $10 bottles of red wine all the time. There are some pretty decent cheap wines around here.
Better than spending 40 or 50 on a bottle.

My parents buy a box of wine every week, thats like 7 1/2 bottles. I'll take a drink or two out of that if I dont have a bottle myself. I really like a good Pinot, Cabernet, or Merlot.:drunk:

I agree with Shroomism. I enjoy more $10 wines than their more expensive counterparts. There isn't much difference in taste between those classes.

Really what my wine taste entails is really which ones are 11.5% to 14% abv. Easy to get drunk on and doesn't have as bad as a taste as liquor and is less filling than beer.

True, although getting drunk on wine makes for some terrible hangovers for me.

How much alcohol is usually in a standard bottle of wine?

I live in Alabama, so it may be limited here.

It's illegal in the whole state to sell beer 6% and over, but we can buy Everclear @ the liquor store.

What the fuck sense does that make?

They also can't sell a woman (or man I guess) a vibrator here unless she/he says they need it for a medical condition. :lol:

The Attorney General who is so gung ho about it supposedly got caught last year with a dick in his ass by his wife.

I dont really get wine hangovers if I drink a glass or two of water before I hit the sack. Hydration is key!

Cheap wine has been what I decide to get drunk on every few weeks anymore. Spend 2 bucks at walmart and you're set. Rarely get hangovers from a light wine.

If it's really cheap wine it has to be retsina, most people will disagree. :shrug: It's not the most palletable wine but once you get the taste for it, it's great. It's aged in pine wood barrells i think, greek stuff.

If I drink too much wine too fast, which generally happens.....I get piss drunk.

2 embarrassing things that have happen, well one:

1. Drank too much wine and ate sleeping pills, woke up in my ex's apartment in the middle of the  night and went to piss in her kithen floor thinking I was a fireman putting out flames and then coming to to realize I was still doing it right after she confronted me in the middle of my hose down.

2. Woke up in the bath tub with 3 inches of bubble bath after I fell asleep an hour and a half before hand. LOL I was so fucking confused!:dizope:
