Envious am I!!!!

I can play alright but don't have a set.  :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:

Did you take lessons or teach yourself?

I always hung around at a friend's house who had a set and would always jam with this other kid...
One day the other kid wasn't there and he told me to try playing drums, so I did

if i had to nail it down to one drummer... well, i would say danny carey of tool, but his shit is so hard to play that i can only take bits and pieces of inspiration... itll take some time...
one who has actually "taught" me how to play and groove (not physically, but acustically) is abe cunningham of the deftones...

i never took lessons (although it would have been a good idea)... and i never actually owned a drumset until after 3 years of playing lol... so basically everything is self-taught, with a few tips and tricks from other (better) drummers from time to time... it was really hard at the beginning (heck it still is) but it comes with time... and with inspiration... the music were putting together with my band right now just gives me a kick in the ass... it feels so good when you can actually notice yourself getting better.. when you start to do shit that you know you werent able to do a few months ago... its a neverending process, tho... and im still kind of at the beginning...

Being the German, do you like Krautrock at all? I like a lot of it. Such as:
Can, Grobschnitt, Guru Guru, Eroc, AmmonDuul 2, Neu, Birth Control, Eloy, and stuff like that.

you should be able to get a decent, cheap set second hand... my first set was second hand...

krautrock... man i hate to be an ignorant, but i have never heard of it... then again, i missed 13 years of german culture while living in ecuador... is it like neue deutsche welle?

you can get a brand new half decent set from www.americanmusicalsupply.com for 300 bucks. Thats a good deal, considering symbols are included.

Nice rack loztsoul. It's funny you mentioned danny carey cuz when i was looking at the pics of your drums i was actually thinking "hmm danny carey" heh

OMG i miss my drum set like crazy! I had to sell it for college money and because i was moving into an apartment. sucks, i had a 12 piece pearl. I really want an electronic set but the one i want is 5k dollars. It can emulate any set ever, and any sound ever into the drums, i'm sure you've played with these.
