of course, i'm in no rush to be a god or anything if that's what you are implying.  to me guitar is like riding a bike, once you learn you really don't forget.  i might play choppy and this and that but I still know the basics and with time and patience I will be as good as I once was, I know this.

and I want this, so i'm not sure what you mean by that other than just putting it out there.  but i agree 100%.  speed is a biproduct of accuracy, perfection is a biproduct of practice and repetition.  i know i remember reading some really famous guitarist saying this (don't remember who) but i've lived by those two statements my entire playing career.

Well I think I've found my guitar. £100 pound more than I anticipated, but its calling out to me.

I went to 2 shops and saw lots of pretty guitars, one shop the people were really laid back and left me in a room full of £1000s worth of guitars to play at my discretion, the owner said 'have fun' and walked off :lol:, I played a whole plethora of different guitars of all shapes, sizes and brands, one that particularly stood out was a really nice martin guitar with really smooth low action, it was ugly as fuck, but so so nice (and expensive).

The other shop was full of douchebags and labels saying 'do not touch' and then some cunty salesperson kept on trying to get me to buy those 'vintage' rip offs of well known guitars. Not to mention all hideously over priced. He got nice and pissy when I mentioned I'd rather get it from the internet :lol:.

But anyway, the guitar that's calling out to me is a "Stanford GA 'Black diamond'". Its slightly cheaper on the net (~£50), but I'm sure postage and the anticipation would sort of negate that and I would gladly give my money to that really laid back shop just for being cool as fuck :grin:. 

I'm gonna go back down there tomorrow and have another play and see if I still like the feel and sound (it sounded immense :shocked:).

been playin for 3 years. i play blues, funk, rock. and whatever else i want. started off playing 311 songs cause it got me into playin awesome rythyms, then moved on to other shit, now im playing chili peppers stuff to get to that "place" where it flows out.

Been playing for a bout 6 or 7 years now.  I play with a few bands but nothing steady.  Playing shows is always fun and a little thrilling to make music on the spot.  Besides the stuff that i write, i mostly play grateful dead and other randomness.

Songs i've like to play recently include: Eyes of the World, Bertha, Loser, Deal, Scarlet Begonias, Fire On The Mountain, Not Fade Away, Going Down The Road Feeling Bad, Aiko Aiko, Franklins Tower, Good Lovin, China Cat Sunflower, I Know You Rider... like i said, i like to play dead.

I love playing guitar- I personally like playing open tunings and just coming up with beautiful sounds and ideas and letting all my emotions out on the guitar :mushroom2:

trying to write some songs, but fuck is it hard :heresjohnny: doesn't help that I don't really know note names, but I've been playing for a fairly long time

Started a metal band 6 years ago.
Got signed, had cd out, in a few magazines.
Wrist problems :-(
Change in taste of music.

Can't really play guitar at the moment as my wrist hurts too much so i'm working on other things.

I've played for about a year now...

I like to play Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. Just learned the intro solo... Its a simple but a great song

I've been playing since last Christmas ... so, just over four months. I play all sorts of songs I like, from 'Over the Rainbow' to 'Iron Man.'

Lately, I've been playing a lot of Radiohead. I'm on a Radiohead binge. :syringe:

I've written a few of my own songs, too. The words always stay the same, but I don't make a point of remembering tunes/chord progressions. I like putting a new sound to an old song I wrote each time I play it, or whenever I feel like it.

meh i played some steady as she goes yestarday and the wind crys marry they are good songs to warm up with but man if someone ever stole my stuff they d get a guitar to the back of the head omfg it would be so worth it

on another note that metal stuff makes me want to choke someone, but the songs are pretty long:confused:

i have about 5 songs that are almost totally completed, with another10 or so that are just general ideas of where i want it to go. basically i have the format for myfirst album.

now i just need to find some people to write the other istruments.

ive been playing for 5 years now. Anymore i mainly play  hard rock stuff like system of a down, avenged sevenfold etc, though i go through phases with just about every genre.

i am actually refinishing my old Jasckon JS30RR with a swirl paint job and replacing the stock jackson humbuckers with a set of blackouts and throwing in a killswitch for the hell of it  :headbang3:
