Well, after contacting the seller and telling him that I got experts (you guys) to I.D. and that it was not a Peruvian Torch he gave me my money back very quickly. So, me and my low-income wallet, humbly, and with the greatest respect sincerely thank everyone that looked at this post.

Since everyone in general seems to think Bridgesii are the best bet on average, I am taking my chances with a plant from < mod edit - to comply with forum rules >. When I get the plant, I will be sure to post a pic and see what you guys think.

Once again, thank you everyone so much for saving me money, time, and a lot of frustration a few years from now when I found it the plant isn't what I wanted. It is nice knowing there are some caring people out there still.

Sincerely,
Runeswords

Good luck on your quest for mescaline, sir :awebig:

You sure are taking your chances with that particular vendor. They suck in the cacti dept. BTW, read the rules. No vendor discussion. I wouldn't have even said anything except that you should be warned.

That cactus is probably a P Torch x Cuzco hybrid. As will be the ones from that shitty vendor.

Bridgesii is probably the best. I have great luck with buying dried skins though. Live cacti are for growing, but not consuming IMO.

Well, as far as going with the original...if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

After getting things pointed out, it does not match the description of what I wanted, so it only made sense to cancel the order. Anyone that would argue that I should buy something that I do not know 100% is what I want I am guessing has more money and patience than me.

For the vendor I listed earlier by mistake, I have heard negative about them just like every other vendor...except for the ones that charge outrageous prices...

On the other hand, everyone that has mentioned a negative about them also said they rectified the mistake, so what is there to complain about?  Furthermore, if they send me a plant that is not 100% bridgesii like I ordered, then I will return it to them. Not that I am taking advantage of you guys, but you all seem more than happy to look at pics and confirm/disconfirm plants.

Also, due to rules or whatever, noone seems eager at all to recommend a good vendor, so where does that leave me?

But once again, thank u all for your help, and my apologies for breaking forum rules in a prior post by listing a vendor. The one time I don't read the fine-print and rules they actually get enforced...except for speed limit signs of course

Its all good. I like to see pictures of the actual cactus/cacti I am buying. Its the only way I do it now, unless I am after something fairly rare like E bokei.

Welcome to the shroomery btw. You found the best forum on the shroomery IMO.

The vendor discussion takes place in PMs..But lets see if I cant breakdown the politics of buying a cactus for you.

Ethnovendors, like the edited one..  they just carry merchandise. Bought through a couple middlemen, with questionable contents and backgrounds. For base cactuses, pachanoi and bridgesii, most vendors carry the same strains and are alright.

peruvianus is an incredibly convoluted subject in the cactus community. if you really want a non KK242, you need to meet people with serious addictions to this hobby...  they usually only accept equally rare trades.. like scopulicolas, true blue peruvianus, juul's giants.. etc etc...

I can't believe you canceled. That is a wild peruvianus. Extremely hard to find... One of a kind!! And the guy is a one of a kind too. He has some of the best trichocereus species.

if you read the forum rules and understand them, your question regarding vendor reccommendation will be answered.

I looked in:
THE FAQ  http://www.shroomery.org/forums/faq2.php
and
Forum Rules http://www.shroomery.org/forums/rules.php
and
Advertising Policy http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Number=630108
and
Legal Disclaimer http://www.shroomery.org/8415/Legal-Disclaimer

And find nothing in reference to what you are talking about. Would someone care to direct me to where I need to go to find out about getting vendor info for things I wish to buy?

Vendor discussion is also not permitted, wether it is good or bad makes no difference. If you find info on a vendor page, please just copy and paste it into your post. We want to keep our sponsors.

Still can't believe you canceled

In FRONT of your house?  noooo

Thats how we get some jackass saying he found a cactus growing somewhere and wants an ID.  :frown: and can he trip balls?

Actually, I would plant them out front...  and wait... with a louisville slugger...
