is that how im recognized? i think ive been received pretty well, i get a lot of pms from people telling me they appreciate things that i say. You on the other hand ridicule people that arent as skeptical as you, and only have something to say when other people are ganging up on one person. youve been misinformed.

riiight, anyway I looked through your rating when you said most people rate you after 15 minutes of speaking with you then I noticed qubit rated you 0 too (a member I have seen here for years and respect) and Qubit>Jack Albertson.  Fail. leave now befor the admin bans you! (counter-strike joke)

qubit doesnt believe 9/11 was an inside job that's why he gave me a zero, because i dont think like he does. dont worship that instigator.

Yea, brief history of time is good.  I have read maybe a half dozen pop-physics books, and that is probably the best of all of them.

Yea I read it.  Its ok, on par with all the pop-physics stuff.  It spends most the time going over general relativity and quantum mechanics, which is cool and interesting.  I dont think string theory is that interesting anymore, but I did when I read that book so the last part about string theory could be hit or miss.

would you recommend other books?  I can go more in depth than hawkings book went but I assume these may just be textbooks and physics courses maybe.  What university do/did you attend? PM me if you dont feel comfortable leaving that info. here

I think all the pop-physics books follow a similar motif.  Roughly a third is spent on relativity, and another third is spent on quantum mechanics - since those are very interesting and accepted theories (and the reason I love physics so much).  Then the last third of the book focuses on the writers specialty, like cosmology in hawking's case, string theory in greene's case, higher dimensions in kaku's case, etc.  They dont make many books on other aspects of physics since relativity, quantum and space are the things that attract so many people to the subject.  I dont have any in particular I would recommend as I dont really read them anymore.  For the first time reader I usually do suggest a brief history but you have read and understood that I would just go to amazon and find something else that has good reviews and a subject you like.

As for where I go, Im at arizona state right now.  Going to U of Oregon in the fall, decided against Penn State - the profs. at oregon seemed just as good and its less rural in oregon.
