Good Spice Grinder?
    #10178587 -

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good spice grinder?  I used to use this small coffee grinder with a blade in it similar to a blender.  However it does not work for cinnamon and some other spices because the hard chunks just fly around the top.

Good ol rudimentary mortar and pestle has never done me wrong. Something about it that seems so natural and rustic.

I have this:

http://www.amazon.com/Braun-KSM2-BLK-Aromatic-Coffee-Grinder/dp/B00005IX9N/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1239918484&sr=8-1

and I have been able to powder cinnamon, nutmeg, you name it. The good ol' start and stop technique along with a bit of patience has proved effective.

Yah, a good coffee grinder should work just fine..  Just work the grinder, shake it up and down while grinding.

Always worked for me.

i use both a mortar and pestle and a coffee grinder.  I have no problems getting any spices into powder form with the coffee grinder.

Yea I get that everyone here has a decent coffee grinder, what brand do you have?  I know how to operate a coffee grinder, mine just simply won't work regardless of any suggestions, believe me.

I use a Krups brand coffee grinder.  I've been thru like 3 coffee grinders already with the amount of spices I grind.  The lids always break beacuse I'm always banging them to get the stuck spice out.

Pro tip:  Dont grind almonds in the coffee grinder.
