i don't.  that's for sure.  i'm a proud member of the natty lite fanclub and I will drink bud light on any given night.

I can count the "good," beers I have tried on one hand :lol:.  then again i'm really not that big a fan of alcohol, i'm a fan of getting drunk.  paying anything more than 9.00$ for a 12pack is blasphemy.

no it's not, it gets me just as drunk as most any 12 beers.  i just don't like alcohol too much.  i mean, sometimes yes I will buy a 6pack of sierra nevada pale ale or blue moon.  but that is super rare I have done it like 10 times in my life.  if I want to get really drunk I usually dip into the crown royal or olde english lol.

I just picked up a bottle of Stone Old Guardian barley wine.

I recently had the La Chouffe, very very good.

There are definitely stouts I would consider to be more interesting and flavorful.  However, Guinness poured correctly on tap is one of the perfect beers, especially sitting in Dublin somewhere eating some kind of gross looking meat pile.  Other so called perfect beers to me are Sierra Pale Ale (I think this should replace Bud as the new American staple), Stone IPA and Fullers.

shitty beer is for shitty lifestyles.

i done drank 1000000000 gallons of natural ice and 211, im done with that.

now its strictly microbreweries for me, and most of them can be considered good beer.

I live in the middle of Detroit. There are about 10 micro breweries that are very popular within a 30 mi radius and 3 of my favorite are in walking distance. One of the big exported brews from michigan is Dark Horse, and i guess i should mention bells too.

All the trendy restaurants that are plentiful here carry about 800 different beers.
Theres two places in particular that i can walk to easily.
One place has a massive selection of small batch and mostly local, microbrews in bottle and on tap.
The other specializes in rare imported Euro-beers, mostly of the German variety.
That place is called Jacoby's if your ever in the D.
They have some damn good German food to go with the brew like 10 different sausage varieties, cheeses, and kraut.

i can't really drink cause i'm allergic to alcohol but my husband person loves beers and single malt islay whisky...it's always easy to get him presents for christmas, birthdays, etc :grin:

he's fixated on taking a roadtrip to belgium this summer, specifically so he can visit the abbaye of saint sixtus westvleteren monastery and pick up a few crates of his favourite trappist beers.

my personal favourite beers are the dark czech lagers...staroprammen, kozel. i also like the christmas ale from nogne-o brewery...and enjoyed some dark beers during our stone brewery visit.

of course, maybe my tastes are a bit higher standard than others cause it's the only type of beer allowed in the household...

we do have standard lagers which are available in the house for guests to drink if they don't want to crack open an expensive bottle of beer (if their mission is to just get drunk and not care about what they're drinking)...

i guess it might be some people's favourite time of year as he's been going nuts over some of the easter beers available at the shops lately

The Belgians make some good beer. I am not overly excited over it, though. Most of it is too strong and too sweet. I've had beer from Belgium that was more like liquor than like beer. Fuck that nasty shit.
When I want good beer, I buy German or Czech beer.
