-Southern tier brewery
-great lakes
-custom brew crafters
-dog fish head

I like to stay local. The closer it is brewed to you the better, as far as freshness goes.
A good micro brew beer definitely gives you a different buzz then crap beer like labatts or bud.

Sorry to all you Guinness fans but that shit is the Budweiser of stouts(imo)!!!

Gulden Draak is a dark brown Triple Ale, which makes it an exception among the Belgian Triples. The second fermentation offers the nice creamy head, the full body and all the vitamins of the centuries old brewers yeast. It is a "thick" beer, that you can actually "nimble" to adventure the complex taste. Gulden Draak balances a natural malt toffee-like sweetness with a mellow happiness and some hoppy accents. The aroma is round, sweet and reveals the 10.5 alcohol by volume. Another name for this type of rich beer is: "Barley wine". You sip and enjoy this beer slowly, probably as a dessert, or as a treat you definitely deserve.

It's not like a conventional beer, this beer can be administered anyway you want

I don't particularly care for the taste of beer so I am not partial to a specific brand.  Seems to me most "good" beers tend to be dark.

I'd be curious if someone could find me a quality light beer, if that even exists (and isn't an oxymoron).

It just seems that I don't tend to care for the beers Deschutes puts out. not that I have something against the actual brewery, like it's in a shitty building or something, hahah

I agree.  I went to the big yearly belgian beer festival in Brussels, and I must say most of the beers ended up tasting pretty similar.  I started making fun of the beer makers for not being ballsy enough to use any fucking hops.

As for overrated beer goes, Germany is high high high up on that list.  They make literally like 3 styles, you have the lager, the dark lager, the wheat beer, then maybe you can find other beers if you are lucky like the Kolsch (basically an ale fermented beer that tastes like a lager), the ale that Dusseldorf makes (which is bland), and the smoke beer (which is kind of interesting actually).

Im an English and US kind of man, Ale all the way and hops.

I'm also not a fan of the deschutes regular lineup, but I can't deny that their Abyss RIS is a good one that I look forward to each year, and their anniversary XX Black Butte was pretty good too.  Seems only their specialty beers are good though...

Hey beernologist, I have something for you:

Feel special now? :sunny:

I drink good beer when I can afford it. Sometimes it's an import, sometimes it's domestic. And fuck anyone who tells me that because I enjoy a domestic brew it's not a good beer. Who are you the czar of taste? If I like how it tastes, it's a good beer.

Not all good beer comes from Germany.
