How many people really drink GOOD beer?

Not many, infact  I would say 95% of Americans know little to nothing about beer. People need to get out and explore. There is so much more out there.

How many times do you hear "Oh, I drink good beer.  I drink Killians" or Guinness... Killians is good if you compare it to, Bud, Miller, or Coors and its only OK when compared to those.

Does anyone here drink GOOD beer? What are your favorites styles?

You're a beer snob, haha.

My favorite type of ale is a good belgian wheat (wittekerke & white rascal were two recent finds. both pretty good). Don't really care for porters. I find myself drinking PBR fairly regularly.

Chimay is a really good beer.  as long as its really cold.  once it starts a warm up it tastes horrible.

but when it comes to beer for me..

ill take a ill take 2 40 olde english anyday for around $4

than pay $11-12 for a 6 pack of good tasting beer.

i only drink the really good beer when i can afford it which is rarely.  plus that really good beer usually leaves my stomach bloated.  gets me fucked up quicker as well.

Don't get me wrong here... I buy  a couple 32ozers about 3 times a week. (FL doesn't sell 40's). And if I'm having people over to drink, there isn't anything wrong with a case of Ice House. Cheap. But I drink good beer when the money is there and my objective is to not get trashed, although, seeing how Belgian beer usually starts at about 7-12% alcohol, that doesn't always go according to plan.

The buzz from good beer is different as well when comparing to cheap beer. Its cleaner, less sloppy feeling. Its a nice warm and pleasant buzz.

Yeah the darker beers tend to fill me up, as far as selection goes though ive got it pretty good at the pub i frequent. Alot of nice European stuff, obviously they've got the usual crap.

Great lakes brewing company(anything from them is good)
Thirsty Dog(balto is my favorite but all there stuff is good)
and theres tons more i love good beer.

Beer is dumb anyways, if you're gonna drink why not fill up a glass of whiskey on the rocks or something.

Although I will agree with you that if you were gonna drink beer, might as well make it quality stuff.

Nothing like a good beer bar.

Anyone in Florida near the Tamp/Clearwater area, there is a bar opening in a week that brews 100 different gourmet coffees from around the world. Also sells chocolates, and homemade pastries, and even offers some healthy food choices. But the best part is, its also a Belgian tap house, with 32 beers on tap, of many styles, craft brews, belgian,  german, and english. It has about 32 different Belgian beers in bottles as well.
