Coca Leaves

I enjoy seafaring tales, and am currently reading a book in which on of the characters has an addiction to opium.  He's trying to quit, and takes up chewing coca leaves.  He says it numbs your mouth, takes away your apatite, gives you a general feeling of well being and sharpness.

I understand cocaine is an alkaloid derived from the coca leaf, but based on any experience, would just chewing the leaves produce the effects the character is taking about?  I ask because I found a source online who appears to be selling the pure untreated leaves or leaves in tea form.

Ever watch Mark and Olly? A couple of Anthropologists go live with this tribe in Peru.....The chief of the village ALWAYS had a big ass wad of coca leaves in his cheek :lol:

i've read that natives of south america chew the leaves for it's stimulating effects.  it's probably much milder than it's powdered form.

much milder, was often used to help with altitude sickness when traveling through mountains a what not by south american peoples

Yes, chewing them with bicarb works - the problem is that you will probably get dried leafs.  Chewing dried leafs is horrible and nearly impossible compared to fresh.

Making coca wine or coca lemonade is a good option.  The high is different from pure cocaine.  The effects are very speedy / jittery and less euphoric as the main active ingredients is ecgonine.  It is good fun though - especially in wine which is shared between friends.  :thumbup:

I do not want any sources, I just want to know if one needs to get them imported over here or is coca de mate OK? Anyone know the difference in akloid content?

ok first off you need a base either sodium bicarbonate or lilipta other then that preferred method is coca wine take a gallon of water bottle empty stuff it with leaves then fill with white Zinfandel wine. let it sit for a week, pour it back into the glass gallon jug cut open the plastic jug with leaves and squeeze out the remaining wine from the leaves. and drink up and share
