Can't stand the synthy keyboards in a metal song, if you're going to use keyboards, at least incorporate them in a way like most good prog bands  or avant-garde bands use them. (Dream-Theater's Images and Words is all I can think for an example to that right now.) I'd rather listen to Meshuggah.

And Dark Tranquility is shitty metalcore melodic metal. Old In Flames is much better for that genre (ei. Whoracle) and fuck I hate Kalmah

Nightrage had the singer from At the Gates.

Their first album is great! I'd just listen to all 4 of their albums.

Opeth is amazing for sure. Mors principium est is one of my favorite bands.

Wasn't saying its the only good metal out there, the following ones you listed are ones i see as more well known besides kalmah...but kalmah fucking owns.

And  the fact their christian shouldn't be a deciding factor in whether or not you like their music, the majority of their songs aren't even christian, if you won't listen to music because you don't like it thats obviously reasonable..if its because you don't like the artists religion that seems rather absurd to me

I really liked these songs, some of the more...preacher esque songs by BTA i wasn't really fond of, but the two i linked are growing on me.

Dark Tranquility kicks ass I saw them one time and after the show the lead singer came down into the audience and shook peoples hands and he autographed my ticket stub. It was a really small venue. And I agree old inflames in the shit everything after Clayman basically is shit maybe a few good songs here and there.
