Clear, actionable feedback for a noob
02/10/24 12:34 AM

Hi.

Thanks for replying with clear feedback that helps me learn.  As a noob, this kind of response helps a lot when I asked about "enmeshed mold":

Quote:
Between the two sectors towards the camera. Little white bits that seem not attached to anything else, coming from nowhere, going nowhere. Overall cottony appearance elsewhere.

... with a screen shot highlighting what to look for.  Very easy to learn with this kind of feedback.

Insightful answers
02/09/24 09:00 PM

I'm still new and learning a lot from reading.  Sometimes, however, it is hard to learn when a noob asks something like "does this spawn jar look okay", and the answer is "it looks suspicious".  You get an answer, but to learn is a little difficult.  Then there are others, like rumfor69, who will give an answer like this:

Quote:
Tap the pic to make it big. Then hold it an arm length away from your face. See how the mycelium is whiter and thicker in some sections like streaks and then lighter and thinner in others? It's not uniform, plus mixed with the spikey late stage mycelium rhizo...it's suspicious

Now that helps me learn fast!  By the way, that was not on one of my questions, just a general comment on what really helped me.

Fast answer to a question
01/09/24 01:38 AM

Answered the very first question I asked on The Shroomery very fast.  I did not understand the forum culture at that stage and didn't appreciate the response, but in hindsight the response was accurate and on point.  Thank you.
