Inducing pinning or discovering contamination.

from a book I am reading:
"while inducing pinning on my cakes by exposing them to indirect sunlight small yellowish somtimes brown blops, weird uneven patches, not patches, almost circles havebeen comingup. I dont know how to identify pins, or contamination. They aren't large.. and I dont think they started off as hyphal knots, as far as I know.."

Pins start off as white knots/bumps/lumps.

You know they are baby mushrooms when they get the redish brown dot.
