Really weird looking shrooms!!!! contamination?

Strain: Burma isolate on agar Substrate: WBS Casing:50/50 peat/verm + CaCO3 Light:12 or more natural indirect Humidity:90-95% Air exchanges:3-4 daily Temps: 23-26?C
I can?t see any visible contamination and no strong odor, but this shit can?t be a normal malformation.
What do you think?

Yeesh, this is a tough call. They look like they're aborting and the fruits are going back into vegetative mode [fuzzing out]. I don't have any experience with 'known' verticillium contamination, but it does look very suspicious. Let's let some other people chime in here.

They get the light from the sides and the fruiting thing is a plastic bin. The substrate is inside an aluminum baking pan. I think the light is OK cause I?ve had really good looking casings inside this same bin. About the aborting issue that Suntzu pointed out, these fuckers are growing fast, as fast as any healthy casing I?ve had before. Will post some more pics for you guys later on.
Thanks

hmmm... thats a tough question then i'd wanna say try one and see what happens but if it is verticillum that stuffs nasty and can make you really sick so.....
i guess its sort of up to you but i would just throw it out and start again or maybe clean that flush and see how the next one comes out.

such crippled shrooms are a sign of inner contams. after you have picked all flushes, you should cut the substrate into flat disks. you will surely find something

It's hard to tell. It can be also a genetic malformation, let's remember they come from an isolate. Anyway, i would follow Henry_Halleur advice and cut the substrate after harvest.

Looks a bit like Vert to me, however, I don't see splintered/shattered stems (such as when you bend and break a stick). I also don't see any apparent browning on the stems, that Vert can exhibit in contamminated fruits.
The only reason I say it is Vert, is because of the caps. They don't seem to get big. This probably the most common characteristic of vert contammination that I have seen/read about.
I have seen Vert first hand.

they look like they have rose-comb .... were they exposed to a petroleum product? live Vaseline or wd-40 something like that can cause mutations... i had a bunch of rose combs that looked like that when i used Vaseline to seal a lid and must have dripped off on the the caseing with the moisture build up

What you see are the gills. Is like shrooms with no caps just gills. They were not exposed to any petroleoum based chemical or anything at all, just water and air.
MAIA: I thought about genetics too cause it?s growing fast like any healthy casing I?ve had and as far I know, contams reduce the speed of growth or even stall the growth at all,??
Could it be a substrate full of pesticides and other shit?

I think the only thing you can do is just pick them and wait it out. Eventually cut open the casing like suggested and see what is going on. I don't know if I can see every shroom deforming like that from a contam. To me it sounds more than less like some genetic problems. Maybe try talking to an actual mycologist.

It's probable. How did you prepare the WBS ? After looking at the last pics, i don't really think that casing is contaminated by another micro organism. It really looks like a genetic malformation, causes are unknown though. Some chemicals might promote genetic malformations but a cloned tissue , carrying this bad genetic information, might also cause this deformed mushrooms. You could try making another cloning session with one of those fruit bodies and see what will come in the next try. Just use other WBS brand or other kind of substrate, this way, it will exclude the chemical issue. Another batch looking like this weirdo one would make you rich and famous J/K . Anyway, it is rather unique though Meanwhile, you can dry the ones you have now and wait for the experiment. Eating those mushrooms right now is at your OWN risk. Chemicals are carried away to the fruitbodies, just like toxins from a mold. In fact, you can consider some chemicals as toxins. Take care

110 gr. WBS and 88 gr. tap water + some gypsum. I left the jars sit for 12 hours prior to pcing. They were pc?ed for 1 hour at 15 psi. Then when cooled down each jar was inoc. with 2 agar wedges from a petri. The strain was selected by me from germinated spores on another plate. Incubated and cased. Will clone and see what happens. By the way, they are sporulating like mad.
Thanks man, very helpfull.
