Microsoft Zune vs. Applie iPod

Just got my tax return and I have wanted an .mp3 player for several years now

Which of the two do you prefer, or if you own either one and can offer feedback that is great too

I am looking at either an 8 GB Nano or the 8/16 GB Zune

From what ive heard Zunes are pieces of shit. Ive had no experience with them so i dunno for sure though. :shrug:

8 gig!?  dude, that's tiny.  there's no way in hell i'd ever buy an mp3 player that small other than maybe a super cheap one for running.  if you're any kind of downloader whatsoever, you should at least get a 30gb. 

the next one i buy personally is going to have to be the 160, and that one will be like 80% full right away.  the nanos always seemed overpriced to me.

My friend bought a Zune for his girlfriend months ago, they couldn't get it to work properly until a week ago, when after adding songs to it, it promptly died. Ipod FTW.

i got the zune 80gb when it first came out, iv had no problems with it and the headphones that it came with are amazing and comfy. its always worked fine for me, id say its 50/50 for both the ipod and zune they are both good products, but i like the user controls of the zune better and the screen size.

Maybe it would be worthwhile to step up to 16GB

I have a 500 GB external that I keep all my music on but I think I could be satisfied with 8-16 GB of portable music

Yeah I was actually looking at the 80GB zune with the larger screen, the screen was the main thing I liked about it. And it was on sale for 215$ compared to paying 200$ for a 16 GB iPod

go w/ an iRiver my first one lasted 3-4 years.

You can get one for the same price as an iPod or Zune and it's way superior.

Neither. I was looking for an mp3 just to play music with good quality. I don't care about video or anything else. I'm not gonna watch a movie on a 1.5 inch screen. I just wanted something for music. After my research, I decided to get the Creative Zen X-Fi 32gb. It is probably the best sounding mp3 player and it comes with very good ear buds. I am very happy with it and recommend it very much. :thumbup:

But if you want games, web browsing, etc. it is probably not what you want. Like I said I just wanted something for good quality music.

fuck that, the itouch doesn't have enough space, I'll keep my iPod but I'm thinking about bumping up to a new one with more room, 30 gigs just isn't enough.  I will say the games are hella more fun though :smirk:

I've had a bad experience w/ a creative Zen... and many problems it became a paper weight and just 3 months.

I bought my first iRiver to replace it, and have had NO complaints.

yes i don't care about how many gb. i used to but i have about 5000 songs on my computer. i just make different playlists and upload them on my itouch. i had an 80gb ipod which i was in love with and my ex stole it and sold it. so i was like fuck i would rather have wirelessinternet and a select few songs. so instead of replacing it i bought an itouch i love it!
