Anyone have a Zune?

how do you like it?

how does it compare to the ipod?

and i can't decide if i want 8gb or 16gb - 8gb is all i need but 16gb is like you don't even have to think about what you put on it, but is $90 more if I buy used.

It really comes down to personal preference. I have a first generation Zune, which is awesome...but I don't like the newer ones because they removed the equalizer. To some people it's not that big of a deal but, when in my car, the equalizer tightens everything up. Nice solid kicks and crisp highs.

I like the Zune software much more than iTunes. I also despise how you have to roll your thumb around the button on the iPod. The newer Zunes have this feature, but you can just turn it off and click the button up or down (which is much better IMO)

Like I said, it's really personal preference. They both serve their purpose as MP3 players lol

yeah

i have an ipod and like it

but want something new

and looked at a ton of things like the cowon d9 sansa fuze walkman and the zune

and i'm limiting it to the zune simply because of gapless capabilities :shrug:

Wait.

New models are slated for mid-September release.  They're already popping up in youtube vids and look impressive to me.

its obviously a little bias against ipods haha, but I own both a zune and an ipod
and their sound quality sucks compared to my sound card(computer)

i had/have a first gen zune. i loved it long time, but i abused it by taking it to demolition sites (work) and getting mortar/dust/etc all up in the input jack. i do think they're cool though. the whole "wireless sharing" crap was retarded, but i liked being able to mess with my own backgrounds/EQ, etc.

i have the first gen 80gb zune and its been great so far, i like it alot better than the ipod. its even handled a few drops on the concrete and was perfectly fine

yeah they're pretty tough, but i overdid it with mine. stuff was falling on it, it was dusty as hell all day, i left it in the rain a few times, etc. it's a wonder the thing lasted as long as it did, haha

computer, x-fi prelude sound card > tube amp > HD600s
ipodtouch/zune > tube amp > HD600s

with the computer as the source, it sounds much more real and detailed.
in fact it sounds so real I sometimes forget I'm wearing them.

if I had to pick between ipod touch sq or zune, I'd pick the ipod.
zune's highs sound really staticy and harsh, maybe its just the older models though
(I won it from cheating microsoft's live games thing)

I don't know if you could tell the difference with standard earbuds/etc though

I got a 1st generation zune about 2 years ago. It's a 30 gig that I got on sale at walmart for $100. Pretty hard to beat a price like that. Its a decent little device.

I bought my Zune 8GB about a year ago, I couldnt stand my old iPod anymore. I think Zunes are a way better device than the ipod.
