Awesome Idea For Furniture

so guys heres how it is. Currently im in college studying packaging (ya i know kinda weird right?) any way i was on a tour recently and my teacher was telling me about how he had no money in college and all this and that. And went on to say (since we have free access to a cutting table and infinite supply's of corrugated and folding carton, thatd be cardboard to most of you guys) he made ALL his furniture from cardboard. Now is that kick ass or what. he had tables, chairs, end tables, a desk. Im so making some sweet shit when i get back from reading week! AHHA

i need practice designing anyway, i seen some of his chairs, they were more like bar stools. and comfy too! but the tables i think are gonna be sweet.

Low enuff prices and it would be cool keg party furniture.......:shrug:

I am not trading my memory foam and micro fibre in any time soon on cardboard ,but there should be a market for it.

I used to order a shitload of USPS boxes and make chairs and tables out of them.

I made a thing to hold my weights when I bench too but that didn't work out too well....

lol. well strength shouldnt be a problem, me and a buddy made a box for an assignment to hold 4 pop cans (They had to fit flush against the inner wall of the box) and it held over 200 lbs... it was pretty kick ass. and the price is low enough eh, i love free lol.

recycling isnt just dumping things at the recycling center, if
you have 1000 boxes at your disposal it would be more sensible
to make use of them for another 10 years as a piece of
'impractical' furniture than to send them off to be reprocessed
40 more times in that 10 years expending tons of energy in the
process and nullifying the whole 'green' movement

yes but the point is, i don't have 1000 boxes at my disposal, i happen to have raw sheets of corrugated (100% recycled), and the point is, im designing it, as in drawing the prints on ArtiosCAD.

ok so here is the first prototype for my chair idea, its more of a stool, but what ever. there will be no glue or tape used, only tabs (i havent included them in the design yet. What's your opinions, how can i make it more interseting, keep in mind im not making a back rest cause it takes a shit load of material to make a strong one.

Oh and im trying to use one board only

well, theres coatings for that, plus i don't smoke or anything in the house so I wouldn't have to worry about the smell being absorbed or anything.
