is this abort all right to eat???

sorry no pic so ill describe it as best i can...ok the cap is just a darker color, isnt black or anything and its not mushy...but for about an inch around the bottom of the abort there is some bruising but then theres also "black" stuff...i have no idea what it is though, it looks kinda like black brusing or something...it dosnt smell funny or anything and its just about an inch up the abort from the bottom...if it is some kinda of contam could i just take the bottom of it off and use it?

When mushrooms abort the heads turn black and get hard. Mycellium will start to try and fuzz up and overtake the abort also. I supose if the abort sat on the cake in its aborted stage for a while it could rot.

My guess is the discoloration is from it being aborted or spores. Ive never had a problem eating aborts from a cake when most of the cake is producing mature mushrooms.

If you think its rotten, throw it away. One less shroom wont do much, your health is worth far more.
