Tesla vs. Einstein
    #9760265 -

Check this out.  On the 64th page of einstein1a.pdf (Part1a) here
http://foia.fbi.gov/foiaindex/einstein.htm
its says that Nikola Tesla said: "The Einstein theory in many respects is erroneous"

I know this subject makes Einsteinian extremists throw temper tantrums, but this will further expose the organized crime system that suppresses criticism of Einstein.  After they throw the temper tantrums, they use obfuscation to support Einstein's theory.

organized crime system that suppresses criticisms of einstein? lol. to what ends would that serve?

I think it comes from the neo-nazi movement, attempting to discredit Einstein since he is Jewish.

Weird angle there..

Yeah, Tesla put some of Einstein's theories to the test and proved they were wrong, but organised jewcrime?

There I was thinking Tesla was not talked about because he was a subversive and wanted free electricity for everyone. And hated human hair and fat people.

Yeah indeed, funny how Tesla's theories are completely ignored eventho he had already figured out a unified theory. But for some weird reason in school we haven't heard a single word about Tesla, the man who brought electricity to the globe.. how is this possible? I mean, why do we listen to the theories of Einstein who hasn't been able to put them to practise, over the theories of Tesla.. who obviously did? Afaik, almost all our EM and electricity technology is based on Tesla's patents, how is it possible, that the only place that Tesla's name is mentioned is on the internet?!

Tesla vs Einstein. Ether vs no-ether. The reason why current science is stuck imo, because we are stubbornly clinging on to the false belief ether doesn't exist. It's impossible to even discuss the ether with anyone at all, because everyone seems to be convinced there is no ether and are unwilling to even discuss the possibility! It's like back in the time when people thought the earth was flat, history repeats itself :P

The people that believe in ether are no different than the people that believed the earth was flat.  You might want to read up on the Michelson-Morley experiment as it is much more apropos towards your claim than either Tesla or Einstein.

> Afaik, almost all our EM and electricity technology is based on Tesla's patents

Tesla gave us induction motors and AC power.  There is no doubt that his inventions are the most widely used in modern society.

> why do we listen to the theories of Einstein who hasn't been able to put them to practise (sic)

Many of Einstein's theories are used.  We have proven that time dilation occurs.  We use gravity lenses to look deeper into space.  We use red shift to calculate the speed of astronomical bodies.  The list goes on...

> how is it possible, that the only place that Tesla's name is mentioned is on the internet?!

Personally, I suspect it boils down to the rivalry between Tesla and Edison.

i never ONCE heard anything about tesla in school.  not even one of the most revolutionary inventions in electric history..... the AC motor.

and since i left school and learned about all of what he accomplished, it really pisses me off.

I never learned about edison or tesla in school.  There are alot of great people we never hear about.  I think the reason tesla is so famous on the internet is because the mystics believe he invented free, wireless energy.

i learned about edison quite a bit in school.

and if it werent for those people that believe he invented free wireless energy(i would like to believe he did after reading several of his experiments involving powering lights without wires at varying distances.), then i probably wouldnt have ever even learned about tesla.

I assume you're kidding, but just in case you aren't... a few fun facts:

- Ether was the prevalent theory for a long time, but despite increasingly complex experiments to determine the nature of ether, its existence was never found. Eventually the scientific community concurred that the ether doesn't exist, but the no-ether suggestors had to take a lot of flak first.

- While ether has never been demonstrated in even the most complicated experiments, Einstein's most well known theories have been repeatedly validated through experiment.

- As has been mentioned, the reason you didn't learn about Tesla is probably due to the rivalry between Edison and Tesla ... and the fact that Tesla was a nutter. Brilliant, no doubt, but a bit mad.

- I don't have a clue what you're talking about with the earth being flat. Western civilization has known the Earth is round since the ancient Greeks (the whole Columbus stuff is nonsense, read about it), and it hasn't been proven otherwise.

...And while we're on the topic of marginalized scientific greats, I might point out that most people have heard of Tesla, while James Clerk Maxwell usually arouses a vacant expression. The man is right up there with Newton and Einstein, and yet I didn't hear a word about him until university.

Tesla did get a unit of measure named after him (magnetic flux) which I dont think Edison did.

After being inundated with Tesla mania on the internet for years, I think of Edison as being under appreciated now!  Sure he was wrong on the AC/DC debate (a fact he finally admitted on his death bead) and he was an ass as well... but his inventions covered a very broad scope of subjects and were very relevant where as Tesla was pretty much only an E&M only guy.  Anyway, Im sure we both agree they each did great work.

Well, in actuality, the earth IS flat just as much as it is spherical.  It's all about perspective.

The earth is nearly spherical and it has nothing to do with perspective.  It may look flat, but that does not change the actual shape.

Re: Tesla vs. Einstein [Re: Seuss]

It has everything to do with perspective.  First, "spherical" defines a shape that looks like a sphere(like the earth from a space perspective within a certain distance span).  If one examines a point of a seemingly perfect sphere at a certain microscopic or macroscopic level, it would no longer be a sphere.  No perspective is any more valid than another as they are all dependent upon the relation to another thing.

How can you determine the "actual shape" with anything but perspective?  No matter what tools or measurements are used, the resultant observation is limited by human perspective.  The earth is spherical within certain parameters just as it is flat within certain parameters.

You seem to conflate an observation or conclusion (an inaccurate one) with reality.

Just cuz you could make inaccurate measurments or conclusions doesn't change anything.  The earth is approx. a sphere.

Are you claiming that the earth is not a sphere if you don't notice it or something?

Looking down at your feet and declaring that the earth is flat isn't a supportable conclusion without other data, which you've not invoked, so I don't understand your point.  You couldn't make that conclusion.  If you did, you'd be wrong.  I guess if all your saying is people can make mistakes and erroneous assumptions then I'll agree, but this doesn't demonstrate the perspective is relevant.
Quote:

This isn't relevant to your argument- as you were discussing the (erroneous and flawed) observations and the conclusion rather than the actual shape.

But the answer would be that you'd observe the object and gather enough information to determine the shape within whatever degree of confidence and percision you wish.  This doesn't require perspective, and I believe its your burden to show that it does given you've claimed such.

For example you could measure several positions on the surface of he earth in space and relative to the earth and determine the shape from those.  If its a sphere then say its a sphere like object and describe its dimensions which you've discovered.  I don't know what your perspective has to do with it.

The earth is not flat within any parameter.  Just because it looks flat to you does not mean that it is flat.

> How can you determine the "actual shape" with anything but perspective?

By measuring the object in question.  Perspective is irrelevant.

> I don't know what your perspective has to do with it.

Exactly; it has absolutely nothing to do with the perspective.  Does an object change shape if I squint my eyes?  No, it does not.  I am continually amazed at people's willingness to confuse science with philosophy.
