Hey,
I am new to mushrooms (i have never tripped on shrooms before) and i am interesting in taking my first pychadelic trip. I would like to explore my mind and hopefully gain insights on my life.
I live in the Oklahoma region. Lately i have been seeing TONS of mushrooms around. It just rained pretty good today and soon i would like to go the park and look for some active shrooms. I wouldnt eat any of course until i was sure they wouldnt kill me.
Since it just rained today, when would the best day to go shroom hunting? Also what percentage of deadly shrooms are there compared to active shrooms?
Thankyou

I like your username
Anyways, Oklahoma I THINK (im not too familiar with the Southern US), has the ability to have Psilocybe Cubensis...the general most common "magic" mushroom.
YOu can basically look all over these boards, and will see this species of shroom.
As for the ratio from active to poisonous, there are a lot more posionous mushrooms than there are active. Oklahoma will only grow 1-3 kinds of active mushrooms, depending on the climate...
Once again I can help you ID mushrooms that you find, however, I am not too familiar with that region.
If you want to find cubensis, go to some cow pastures and they will be growing righ tout of the dung. There are other species of shrooms that grow from dung, so dont just think that they are the right kind.
Cubensis has a broad golden (fading to white on the edges) cap, with an umbo or nipple in the center. Dark greyish-purplish gills, a purple veil on a white stem. They have a strong mushroom odor, and will bruise blue when cut or squeezed...(on the stem). Spore print will be a dark chocolate purple.
Try looking around on the site, doing some searches and what not, you'll find some information.
While on your mushroom hunts, if you find something that DOES NOT have white gills..., and has a black or purple spore-print, come back to the forum for an ID to see if its active.
Good luck...im really drunk and I hope I made some sense
