Just got bck from Umprey's McGee

Sorry ltf,  I feel for ya. But honestly thats been a part of my life too. maybe not the ignored part, but most everything else.

Umph's was nothing like I expected. I saw them for the first time over 5 yrs ago and they were your typical jam band fair, which was good. I re acclimated myself by listening to some of their albums this week. Hwever, they were like nothing I expected. They jammed so hard. the show was so great. they jammed like STS9 for most of their show.

I got into an argument w/ some random dude at the show b/c I was comparing them to STS9 and he got pissed. He thought Umphhrey's was way better. But I'm a huge STS9. It nearly came to blows. well, not really, but dude was pissed.

I dont know. comparing good music w/ other good music is hard.

I saw Umphrey's at 10KLF a few years back. They were fuckin' awesome.

Oh by this year I meant going back exactly one year from today.

yeah it seems like every once in a while umph picks up on something (in the air? :shrug: )
and goes into some serious psyche-dub-funk trance shit.
I can see the sts9 comparison, but sorry, no, umph is on a different level. :yesnod:
Like literally.
Should we pull up the sheet music and have a gander?  :arabs:

That said, i enjoy both bands very mush.

look, Umphs played so well tonight. the show was better than any of the 6 STS9 shows I have seen in the past 3 yrs. I just did not expect it. Thats why I was so blown away.

Their shit tonight was ridiculous.

once upon a time at an STS9 show...
Spun kid is saying something to me and I couldn't really understand him, even with my cryptic-speech decoder running full blast :uptosomething:
Then goes on to say something like "YOU SHOULD DO A LOT OF DRUGS"
And my response was, "YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO A LOT OF MUSIC".
