fungicide for lopho seeds?
    #963443 -

i want to start some l. williamsii and t. peruvianus seeds. i hear there is a need for fungicide in the early stages of germenation. does anyone have any experience using or not using this to get those little tiny pups going?i remember a post by una(i think) a while back and it seems that was a pretty sucessful grow. Has anyone had great sucess raising cacti from seed? thanks folks

you don?t need any fungicide to germinate lophophora or trichocereus seeds....

those where grown from seeds this last summer...
no fungicides at all, seeds were washed with a 10% bleach solution, the soil was sterilized for 10 minutes on high in the microwave...no molds at all

any kind of cactus soil wich is low on organic debris (wood, leaves etc.)
say 70% sand and 30% peat

actually, for germination i simply fill a petri with moist sand, place the seeds on the sand, then close (loosely) the petri.
